Mixing metals in wedding set. Will it look off?

My sapphire e ring is white gold and the eternity band I plan to occasionally stack with it and my plain metal wedding band is platinum. I love vintage and antique rings and have found a lot more styles I like for a metal band in 18k instead of platinum. I was leaning toward platinum for longevity but now I’m not so sure. For what it’s worth I have more eclectic tastes so I’m not sure if the different metal colors will bother me together. Here’s my e ring with the platinum eternity I plan to occasionally stack with everything. What do you all think of mixing white gold with platinum?

Just looking at someones hand, especially on jewellery with other things going on (not just a plain band), the difference is not immediately visible. Even if it was (white/yellow gold, rose/plat) I like the look, as do a lot of folk on here. Really personal preference. From your photo, I wouldn't be able to tell a difference in the metals, as they both look similar.

I think these rings are lovely together. Most people would never notice the difference in metals. Even with the metal difference, there are other similar elements between the rings that give them a cohesive look.

Thanks for your thoughts. Now to find a vintage metal band! Do you think platinum will hold up better over the years than gold? I'd like to find a vintage or antique one!

Platinum will wear out the other ring, but it looks like your Ering is fairly sturdy and not too hard to rebuild underneath every 5-10 years for where it gets chopped away

Gorgeous set!! I could tell the difference in metal color, but only on close inspection. Like a PP said, most people won't notice the difference. From what I understand, platinum would likely hold up better than gold; when platinum is dinged or scratched, the metal is displaced. If a gold ring is scratched (or buffed to remove scratches), a tiny bit of gold is lost. If you're concerned about your wedding band damaging your engagement ring, you could get a simple gold band to stack in between the rings.
