Who miraclesrule, come on down!

You are too funny Janice. Are you feeling better tonight???

Aside from being crankypants, I am okay. I have been downing Advil like candy today. It still hurts to swallow and I can''t tell if my ear is infected as well, or if the pain is merely radiating. I will find out tomorrow because I have an appt. in the morning with an ENT. I don''t want to end up in Vegas after a plane ride to be stuck there in pain.

Although I have had seven surgeries on my ears...long story...I haven''t had an ear infection in well over 10 years. And it is usually always on the other side, so, meh....I''ll find out tomorrow.

I just need a break from stress, but that won''t happen until after November. Next year, I will learn to say NO. I volunteered for too many things this year and never knew how much of a toll the wedding planning would take on me. But honestly, I find that if I just totally surrender, then things fall into place naturally. But I don''t want to rely on divine intervention. I need to know I will have the sound and the stage for the event.

Do you think you have a sinus infection?? DH and I usually suffer from ear pain with those? I hope it you feel better, don''t want you to be sick in Vegas. Ick, that would be terrible. Yes, you do have to learn to say no.

Soooowa, while I decide which Netflix movie to watch, I''ll make myself feel better with some Charger opener tailgate pictures. I will just pretend they won the game.

This was a pain to scrub off my back....

One of my daughter''s best friends and us. This was the first time we met her Mom. Other than her Mom, us three are the only women in our fantasy football league.

The Moms and their girls.jpg

That wasn''t stated right. Her Mom is not in the league, just the other three of us...and finally, the poster for the Walk that we need to change for next year because we have too many partners and sponsers. At some point, we are going to need to leave them off the poster.

Oh well, it won''t let me post the picture...too bad really, because it is sooooo cute.

hi miracles.

i actually JUST read through your thread. sorry for popping in so late! your story is so fascinating, no wonder you have so much to contribute to the forum.

i think you''re an incredible woman, thank you for sharing so much of your life and talking about everything, even when it wasn''t so easy.

Linda: You are absolutely right. I need to learn to say NO. It''s easier in my professional life than my personal one.

somehowcollide: Wow girl, you have got some stamina if you read this whole thread!! Thank you for your kind words. I somehow got diverted from telling my life story and jumped right into the present, which is probably a good thing. The thread has been therapeutic in many ways though. I love reading your posts too!! I remember the first time I saw your nick....I thought "That''s a great nic" Somehow I collided with PriceScope.

31.gif
Hahaha, well, it wasn''t Aquafina.
31.gif
I hate beer and that is usually the only thing available when one is tailgating, so I always bring a little bottle of no sugar added organic cranberry juice with Tangerayand squeeze some OJ into it. I like to drink responsibly.
17.gif
In this case, I brought a much larger bottle because my niece came to her first pro football game with us, and I knew she didn''t like beer either, so it was enough for both of us.

Speaking of my niece that didn''t fly back to Georgia after my daughter''s wedding.....Today I had to go get some medicine from the drug store and went by my Mom''s to pick up my Lucky jeans that I let my niece borrow so I could take them with me to Vegas and my Mom says, "Oh your sister is getting married in Vegas in two weeks"

Say WHAT

So my Mom repeats herself. And I ask her "To who?" Apparently, some guy that my sister was friend''s with in grade school and middle school (she never finished high school) found her MySpace page and contacted her. They have been talking everyday for a few months now and he flew back to Georgia to meet up with her and then proposed. She accepted and they are getting married in Vegas. Then he will drive a truck out to Georgia to get my sister and my other niece and all her stuff and her dogs and bring them back to their new home where he lives in Midland, Texas.

He apparently is divorced and raised nine kids after his wife left him for a man half her age. He works on an oil rig. His house is fenced and large and can accomodate my sister''s dogs.
Alrighty then....

Well, I guess it''s a good thing my niece didn''t go back to the trailer in Georgia. Holy moly Batman. My siblings never cease to amaze me. Never.

Janice,

How are you feeling today?

Love, Linda
xoxoxoxoxo

Linda: I''m really sore from the beating I had yesterday at the massage therapist and I think it loosened up some congestion because I feel it, but at least it''s taking pressure off my ear. It was probably all the time I spent face down on the table. It was "bodywork" and I was worked over. We focused on the knots at my neck and shoulder that is merely due to tension and being at the computer and using the mouse all day and probably cradling the phone. My voice seems okay, but then, I haven''t talked much today. The throat definately feels better. I hate to admit this...but I have been "listening" to my body today and I think the doc may have been onto something with the reflux thing. Oh well, I''m just excited to be away from the real world for a few days.

I am going to try use my "inside" voice. I''m just not sure I have one.
2.gif

I am sure that was TMI, but thanks for asking....

I am so glad you are feeling better. Is the pressure on your head gone? I hope so.

I KNEW you had a magic potion in that bottle!

wow- what a crazy story about your sister. gotta love those siblings.

I''ve had the kind of massage you described. Sometimes they kick my butt *too** hard and I wonder why i went in the first place. Funny thing is that it''s all good in the end. Hope you''re feeling better.

Did i read somewhere that you''re headed to Vegas? I am too for a quickie trip- leave tomorrow morning and get back Monday to go straight to work.

VIVA LAS VEGAS!

My faith in humanity restored:

ChargerGrrl: Wasn''t that game on Sunday the worst officiating ever?? Oh man, I was so not happy.

Then tonight, my faith in humans restored when I got down working and went to Whole Foods to grocery shop and put up some flyers on their community board. I sat and ate some soup, when to the car, opened the trunk, put the grocery bags in and opened the backseat to place my flat of wheatgrass in the backseat.

Then I did the unthinkable. I pushed my cart back to the cart corral and walked to my car, got in and left. Halfway home, I reached over to get my phone and realized I didn''t have my purse. I freaked out and hand to get onto another freeway to get to an exit fast. I got out and checked the trunk and backseat, nothing.

So, I hightailed it back to the store, which is not in the best part of town and a lot of homeless people are always out in front...

The longest wait was for the staff at the grocery store to tell me whether or not someone turned my purse in. One kid opened a drawer, asked me what it looked like, another guy said "oh I think someone did turn one in" and kept bagging groceries. Then I just started crying. I couldn''t help it. Five minutes later someone from the office upstairs comes out with my purse and told me a really nice lady turned it in. I asked if she left her number and he said she did so I asked him to go and retrieve it for me so I could call her and thank her.

I had my whole life in that purse including $300 in donation checks for our walk. Thank gawd this lady, whose name I can''t pronounce saw my purse hanging out in a basket and nobody around looking like they were going to grab it.

Okay, i can relax now, I''m home. And there are really great people. Cheers to good Karma and I forgive the poor officiating at the Charger game.

Yay, Janice!!! My faith is restored in the human being. What a wonderful lady. Did you call her?? I would have freaked out. I did that once with my wallet. I wrote a check, then walked out of the store. YIKES!!!!

I did call her even before I got back into my car. I left her a message and she called me back. She had a strong accent but was very sweet. She told me she just saw it there and at first was going to leave it, but then about what she would have wanted someone else to do for her. I told her I would have done the exact same thing she did. I couldn''t thank her enough, so I invited her to the Festival!! Hopefully I will get to thank her in person.
36.gif

You have no idea how easy it would have been, and likely, more some random person to have taken it. SDL will tell you about that certain area of town. I am so grateful.

Isn''t it crazy? Maybe it was because I had the neck massage and PT after work and I was all lulu....

At least I know I am in good company. I have never left my wallet at a store.
2.gif

Well it was a first for me, took it out, wrote a check, was gabbing with the clerk then walked out. Lucky for me, she grabbed it and called me. I have been going to that grocery store for 23 years, so I am well known there. HA!!!

I hope she shows up at the Festival, it would be so wonderful if you could meet with her, maybe buy her lunch.

i like hearing stories like these- yep, there really are great people out there who are willing to go that extra mile...

Does this mean that you''re going to Vegas again?

Where are those GO pictures?

FYI, D has no interest in looking at my ring setting sheet I drew up for him. You may be owing me a pair of shoes!!!!
3.gif

Freke: Maybe he already knows about the setting. I am dreaming about my shoes.......

I need to go upload those pictures right now...that room is crazy....

Yayayay, my daughter is on her honeymoon and they are in Paris right now. She started an awesome blog that I just love to read. She is really excited and having the time of her life. She is so in love and so happy. I just had to share this photo of her in front of the Louvre. She is so hammy. I can''t stand those sunglasses but she loves them and wears them all the time....

Miracles, how is your home coming along?
It''s not. I haven''t been committed to it because of the annual event we have coming up this weekend. My daughter sent me a link to a site that will design your room for $60. You upload pictures and it''s a husband and wife team, who have great design skills within just about any budget. So, I am going to do that.

When her and her hubby get back from the honeymoon, I think they are going to help me and then I can get a refinance. Once that is done, we are seriously considering having them move in and I will move out. With my relatively low and affordable payment, it will help them save some money and I can go rent a small place or buy a much smaller one to live in for now. It would be a win-win for us. Except that I would have to move...blech....

But since I have pretty much gotten rid of all my furniture and was going to start new, the move won''t be too bad. Not much to move.

Are your sure you don''t need a nanny or a live in maid??
3.gif

I hired a nanny, but if she doesn''t work out we''ll talk, okay?

I hope that everything works out with the house though.

Oh fun we were just in Paris not to long ago. How long is she there for? Is she going anywhere else in Europe? I love Paris, the pastries are out of this world. hehe

Phew!! Thank gawd you didn''t say "maid", because I was going to have to backtrack.

I am by far, a superior nanny, and I suck at the whole maid thing.

Crap, I accidently hit "cancel" and lost my whole post
39.gif

But OMG, they are the best. I can message her on the blog and I told her not to eat too many "Qua-sahns" and she said "Can you believe I haven''t even eaten one yet, Mom?" But she will. She said she is gaining. Last time we went to Europe, we all gained approx 6-8 pounds.
6.gif

Her DH has never been to Europe so he is really excited. My daughter has never been to Paris either, so she is super excited, and even more excited at how excited her DH is about it.
36.gif

I should know how long she is staying there, but I don''t. I know that they drove up to LAX to take a direct flight from LA to Paris. I didn''t even know you could fly direct that far. :::shrugs::::: They left this past Wednesday night and after Paris, they will take a train to Switzerland to visit one of her DH''s friends for a couple of days, then they take the train to Madrid. Then another direct flight from Madrid back to L.A.

I took her to Europe for her college graduation gift. We flew into Madrid and then we used Eurail to go to Barcelona, Nice, Venice, Cinque Terra, Florence and Rome. We had a blast, even though it was during the killer heat wave in 2003.

I only saw Switzerland from a train car during a full moon in the end of February and it had been snowing. It was amazing. I couldn''t even sleep because I just wanted to look out the window. I was also a little scared because I was traveling alone on that particular night. But a really nice guy who spoke decent English was the last guy to leave my "car" and he told me that I could turn the seats into a bed and pulled them out from the bottom and viola, I had a whole bed. I did end up falling asleep, but I was bummed that they didn''t wake me up to stamp my passport.

Here is a picture of my daughter''s place in Paris. She calls it her "flat". So much cuter than our hotels. I think it is adorable.
