It would be like me leaving behind a Timex in the TSA tray.

What is more mind boggling here: What is someone with that kind of Cartier doing flying COMMERCIAL instead of private?!?!?!?!

I was thinking the same thing Kristie. He obviously has more more money than he knows what to do with! It is exactly like us leaving an inexpensive watch behind.

I'm embarrassed to admit this , but while on vacation, I took my watch off in the middle of a water park to apply sunscreen and forgot to put it back on. It sat in plain view, completely unattended, for about a half an hour on a plastic table. I was utterly amazed that no one stole it.
Now my Cartier was nowhere near $100,000, but honestly, I can see how someone might forget - especially going through airport security, which is notoriously crazy (shoes off, belt off, computer out, blah, blah, blah….)

That's interesting, momhappy... because I was going to ask if anyone had done anything like that.

More than once I've left my e-ring & wedding band in the bathroom at work after washing my hands (on the bench, not by the sink). Usually it's when I'm chatting with someone or am super-busy/mind uber-focused on work things. Thankfully I've always remembered within a minute or two and they've always been right where I've left them.

^Yes, I've accidentally left my e-ring/wedding band off too when applying hand lotion. A few times, its been in weird spots in my house (like the play room floor, etc.). You're exactly right - it happens in a sort of absent-minded way like when you're multi-tasking.
I will never own a $100,000 watch, but I'd like to think that if I did, I would cherish it, baby it, etc. However, I guess that I could still see how someone might temporarily misplace something like that because it often happens to all of us - just maybe not leaving behind a $100,000 watch

I never take off my jewelry when going through a TSA line. Just recently, when flying with my friend, she started to take off all her jewelry and I stopped her. I think I said, "are you nuts?". Leaving something behind is a good reason not to IMHO.

I don't think jewellery has to be removed but I think wrist watches are not exempt at some airport security checks.
