Well, I have been thinking about upgrading my studs. I LOVE them, but (as usual with me) the darn things are shrinking down to *NOTHING*!

Currently I have a beautiful pair of .45's (.90 tcw) and I am thinking of upsizing to about 3/4 carat each (approx 1.50 tcw). I am hoping that will be a nice, significant visual increase; one that will feed the beast (for awhile, anyway!)

Both diamonds are K/SI1s. My jeweler says they are both eyeclean, and face up very white.

SO, here's what I have on Stud Contender #1... (this diamond is the smaller of the two at .73)

And, just for FUN and size comparison -- a photo of a .72 next to a .46

(And since my current studs are a weeeeeeee bit smaller and the potential new ones a weeeeee bit bigger than the ones in the photo, my actual "real life" size difference MIGHT even be a teensy, weensy, eensy bit more significant!)

And, oh, almost forgot... I don't have any numbers (yet) as the stones are currently at AGS getting certed.

I will post that information once I get it (likely a week or so). So, in the meantime, shall we play, "Guess those stats"?!

They look great, Lynn! You may recall that my studs are .75 each, and I think that size will be SO much more complimentary to your beautiful e-ring! And I''ll tell you, the .75 has not shrunk for me at all.

Love the side-by-side comparison for size sake. Lynn those look to be lovely stones. Nice optical symmetry. Should definitely make eyeclean earrings.

As to the dreaded DSS, I hope these fit the bill for you. If not, well, we know you will keep trying.

Awww, thanks! I sure hope they don't shrink up on me, too, 'cause the next step up would have to be about 2 ctw and OY, that's a huge price jump I don't think I EVER wanna have to make!!!

Somebody, please -- help me stop the madness!!!

lynn, I think they are gorgeous. that is an awesome size too and one I hope for my itty bitty .50ctw's to grow too. I think they would be great with your e-ring, really compliment it nicely, you could probably even go a bit bigger

seriously though, i really do think .75's would be perfect everyday studs!!

But I''ll tell ya'', pickens seem slim in that size range. I was looking for eyeclean J/K SI stones in the .70 to .99 range, and these were pretty much IT!

One thing I've learned here in PS'ville is that this jewelry-buying business is somewhat like playing leapfrog... one minute you're *ahead* (getting something new)... then lo and behold someone else is ahead, getting something new (and likely a little *bigger!*
31.gif
) ... and then usually (in one way or another) "our turn" comes back around again... and on and on it goes!

Plus even when it isn't "our turn", we still get to be so happy and excited for our buddies, AND swoon over all the wonderful eye candy!
30.gif

That's why I think it's just so much fun here on PS -- because in a way, when someone gets something new, we ALL get something new!!!

Oh Lisa, I forgot to answer your question -- sorry!

I am planning on 3 prong martinis (likely WG)... it''s what I have now and I just love that "minimal", floating-on-the-ear look.

Thanks for the input!
