therube: I totally know what you mean.. as I too thinks that those tiny ones are yummy too!! Thanks.

Decisions Decisions Decisions!!

I vote for the micropave! Though I am also starting to like the thin plain bands...

I purchased a similar sized stone with a micropave setting... here, have a look.

Hope this helps!

As you can see from all the posters so far - its a matter of personal choice.
As a vendor who sells both, I can tell you that plain bands are more popular either when men choose alone or when they come with as a couple to choose:
8 out 10 clients tend to be men who choose on their own, 1-2 out 10 come as a couple and in some cases the woman comes on her own or with her family/friends to decide and he comes later to pay.
I get the same happy feedback with both plain bands and diamond bands!

If you get a plain band then she can choose whether she likes a micropave or other style diamond wedding band or a plain wedding band. The microset pave engagement ring does look more spectacular and means that she will need a diamond band to match. It all depends on what you think her tastes are: some women love all the sparkles then can get and others prefer to have a more classic single solitaire engagement ring.

Either way, the main feature is the central diamond.

Thank you all for your input/advice!!

So far, seems like most prefer the plain setting + micropave band set!! Great!! Coz.. I''m leaning towards that as well. The upside is that I can use the plain setting cost savings towards single cut stones for the micropave w-band!!

Any thoughts on this?
Yep, and you can put me in that camp too.

I prefer the micropave band on an e-ring but I'm biased.

You can't go wrong with either look, though.

I'm totally biased too but LOVE the micropave on the band. In fact, I did the opposite and have micropave e-ring, and plain wedding band.

PS-the stones in my e-ring band are single cut, and they are gorgeous. They definitely sparkle!

Your ring is beautiful!! The setting (including the crown height) really makes the stone pop, IMO)! I saw your thread when I was working with GOG on the stone and was SO SO close to just get a similar setting through GOG! Thanks!

You sure did the opposite and it''s beautiful as well! I saw your thread while researching about single cuts and was pretty sold on it. Your ring looks gorgeous! Thanks!
