Hello all .. I have been using this site as a guide for my ering.. I have some questions and need some help finding what I want ~ I love the Ritani micro-pave with princess cut !! But the micro pave on the side has too many beads around it ,.. I LOVE the 1.5-2.0 mm band but I want the diamonds to touch side by side .. no space~ I also like the ring of diamonds around the girdle .. I think that’s what they call it.. basically I want the Ritani ring but I want the diamonds touching instead of the space.. I know the pictures don’t show the space ~ which is what I thougth the ring would look like, but we went ring shopping in NY this weekend and saw one of the endless love rings I wasn’t impressed with the spacing/beading . Should I look at another jewlery store? The guy only had 1 ring to show me..?.. can any one help me ? or at least help me describe in a intelligent manner of what I''m looking for.. here is the link I''m not sure how to insert pics. yet .. The ring I LOVE ~~

If you don't like the look of space between the diamonds, maybe you should consider creating a band with princess cut stones channel set so they touch. All round stones are going to leave some space around themselves, with or without metal attached.

I don't have a pix of what I'm describing, but you might search "princess channel set" on this site or Froogle maybe.

I have a cross pendant that has channel set princess stones and I love being able to run my nail down the length of the cross and have it feel totally smooth ... like a ribbon of ice.

ETA: this ring is kinda like what I'm describing, but with asscher stones on the band instead. I'll keep looking...

EETA: something like this, only more delicate ... they might be able to make it for you with smaller 2mm stones

I''m not quite sure exactly .. I ABSOLUTELUY hate baguettes so I dont want anything that looks like that.. But I did like the ring you sent me with the smooth diamonds together .. I want it to sparkle like crazy though ~ I am aware that if the D''s are circle then some metal will show .. but the one I looked at had too much plat. showing ~~ This is sooo hard .. Any recommendation''s on a jewler or collection .. ? I am considering having this ring made but I also want to make sure that it will be covered for repairs..I also like this one but only if it the d''s went all he way around and minus the halo .. Facets

This is one of my fave rings right now ... since you don''t like baguettes, you might not like the square emeralds around the band of this ring ... but imagine if you had something like this made with a Princess center & princess side stones ... LOVELY!

Hi KevKell!

My boyfriend and I have purchased the EXACT same setting that you refer to (sounds like its getting popular....here is a thread with some "real life" photos of the same ring that someone recently purchased
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/princess-ags0-in-ritani-setting.32694/)

I agree that the photos on Ritani''s website make the ring look a lot different than when you see it in person. The little diamonds that go around the band don''t look nearly that large, but I wouldn''t have wanted something that looked that bling-y anyway. I am wondering whether you will find any ring with round diamonds around the side that doesn''t show "spaces" (by nature of their shape, if you put to circles next to each other, there is no way to close the gap, so even a channel set band will show some empty space) unless they are in prongs. The edges of the ring will be a bit wavy, but that could be a solution to what you want? Of course, if it is important for you to have the wedding band sit flush against the ring all the way around, then this won''t work.

Hi KevKel,

Welcome to pricescope! If you''re looking for a sparkly, eternity band that doesn''t show a lot of metal, have you looked into a shared prong eternity set?

Link

There''s a link with lots of pretty pictures.

Lots of jewelers do styles very similar to the Ritani settings for less money and better diamond quality. Take a look at Whiteflash. They do amazing work with superideal cut diamond melees that sparkle like nobody''s business!

You''ll also find a nice collection of loose princess cut diamonds.

Good Luck!

Hi KevKel,

Lots of jewelers do styles very similar to the Ritani settings for less money and better diamond quality.
Jelly,

This is not a fair statement. Ritani may not be for all but to knock their quality is a very unfair statement. They use VS, white, well proportioned diamonds, and their setting is extremely precise. I''ll put their workmanship up against anyone.

KK143 If the jeweler you saw had only one Ritani piece in stock it would be fair to assume that he was not a stocking Ritani retailer.

WOW ~~ Easy does it ~~ I don’t think she was attacking them personally ~ and the ring I saw was at Fortunoff''s
681 5th Avenue & 54th Street, New York, NY 10022
Phone: 212-758-6660 if you go to Ritani web site you can look it up under locations ..

~ Everyone is entitled to their own opinion ... my opinion .. I wasn’t impressed with the quality of the band on the ring.. To me it looked like they tried to make the diamonds on the sides look bigger with the style beading they went with .. I prefer to have the bigger diamonds on the side with less platinum showing .. PERSONAL PREFERENCE .. ~

That being said ..

Thanks for the response .. The ring that I think I want is this one .. and opinions

Ooohh...that''s pretty too. Who makes that ring? Very similar, but I see the subtle differences. The double claw prongs are also kinda cool.

That ring is just gorgeous!!

mepearl, You''re right, that was an unfair statement about ritani rings. I saw one in person when I was shopping for my engagement ring and I felt that it was kinda pricey. I didn''t mean to offend anyone with a Ritani ring. I think they are beautiful!

I found it on the gallery ~ Firenze Jewlers ~ http://com.pricescope.com/photos/firenze/picture932.aspx

But I want it in princess cut .. ~ Now that you all know what I;m talking about .. is there a ring out there that''s like this from a known designer .. ? Or and I better of getting this custom made? This particular ring was custom made. I am open to other suggestions.. my biggest deal is I dont want the extra beading on the sides and I want the band thin like the ritani.. so between the two is my ring .. and one know where we could get something like that?

This one and

This one dont look the same .. that''s what I was talking about the space and beading

I want something that resebles the web pic Ritani and this one .. Any ideas ?

You might talk to a custom jeweler about what you want. I know you don''t want to see the beads in bead set pave but the beads are what hold the diamonds in. Have you seen this thread about different people here on PS loosing stones. You surely don''t want a ring that isn''t made secure enough to hold your diamonds in. I know WF won''t make their bands below 2mm wide for security purposes.

I agree with Deco - it seems like you just might not like bead set bands, they just aren't for everyone.
So you might be better off with and engagement ring with channel set princess stones down the side.
I'm just not seeing what you're pointing out with the two pictures.

Preferences aside - the workmanship of Ritani's products is pretty amazing, they manage to set teenie tiny stones without getting sloppy.

Scintillating...

Oh* the Picture you posted, that's by Firenze Jewels, you can find some more of their stuff on ebay, they have a gallery here as well, I don't know if they have a website.

Do you like Channel set rounds better ( no bead setting.)

Here is Ritani from side

Ritaniside.jpg

I DO LIKE THAT ONE !!!! no only if I could have that with the same detail as Ritani and Frieze ~

Chser123.jpg

you might also take a look at Art of Platinum and see if you like the look of any of Leon''s ring. I agree with Scintillating. i think it might be the bead set pave you don''t like and you might try to find a different way the sidestones are set.

Then go custom girl!

That''s the only way to get EXACTLY what you want.
You''re on a forum filled with people who want exactly what they want - we''re know where you''re coming from.

Scintillating...

But we on the same token we also want to but form a reputable jeweler ~ you know ..

Here''s a pic of slammie''s rings. this is called fishtail pave. her rings were custom

ooopppss ~ we want to "BUY FROM" hehe

Who made her ring?

I adore Slammies rings, they have to be one of my PS favs!!!!!

Thanks mrssalvo!!!

I have tried on Ritani rings several times, and all I can say is the pictures never do them justice. The craftsmanship is amazing, especially considering how delicate they look. One jeweler told me that Ritani had gotten complaints about their settings being too thin, so they tried to "beef'' them up a little bit.

Really? Like I said this guy only had one with the pave side and I didnt care for it .. humm I will have to find someone in this area ~

All designers have their own ideas on what micro pave is and mine is working with diamonds that are 1/2 to 3/4 point. Larger diamonds are pave not micro. Many times because of the shear size of the little diamonds you will have a larger proportion of prong size on and around the diamond causing these slight gaps in the setting. Both have merit and when well set produce different but beautiful results. The key to any well set pave, micro or larger, is how the tables are set. The best designers align the diamond so that the tables of the diamonds directly match the diamonds they are next to. And are exactly the same mm size. This is pain staking work and expensive. Next time you look at pave get out a loop and examine how the diamonds are actually set. This will distinguish the quality levels of this type of setting.
