Good golly! this makes it so easy to decide - Leon it is! I felt in my gut I wanted a Leon, I guess I was worried a little about communicating to him what I want etc without putting him off. But I do love that ring pretty much as it is so that should be okay.

A big thank you to all who replied. I REALLY appreciate everyone''s input. I''m chronically bad at making up my mind and the overwhelming consensus for Leon makes it a lot easier. I trust PS''ers taste and judgement!

Whew!

Great choice, and having had Leon make me a ring. I can tell you he is a nice guy!!! Really. So talk to him, you''ll see what an easy going person he really is. I think he got a rep on here for being hard to work with. But honestly I never found that to be the case in any of my dealings with him. And my ring a RHR, wasn''t something that was complicated, but he had to source the side stones, and we went back and forth about the prongs. Everytime I chatted with him, he made me feel very comfortable. HTH, and good luck!!

Angeline! They are both gorgeous but the LEON is just so breathtaking!!! Your stone will look sooo brilliant in that LEON setting! I hope you'll be able to reach a decision that you'll be happy with for the rest of your life! Or, at least until you're ready for an upgrade, if that is planned in your future!

Please let us know what you end up choosing... I will be anxious to find out.

thanks Kaleigh, I love your rings!!! (not sure how many are Leon..) I have spoken to him twice on the phone and he was very nice actually, not dismissive or whatever. I guess after reading so much about him and seeing so much of his gorgeous work here on PS, I had built him up into some kind of uber-designer and I kinda felt I should preface everything with ''I am not worthy''!! Anyway I''m excited!

kohdy - this is the upgrade! I actually have the stone in a Mark Morrell setting which is absolutely beautiful and perfect and exactly what I asked for... it''s just that I''ve changed my mind. As I know so many of you can identify with

ha ha... I will definitely post a thousand pics

LEON without a doubt, I think it is way more elegant and fine looking, the Michael B would be fine it there was not the Leon, but it just does not have the panache that the Leon does!

LEON BABY! Hands down.

I''m thinking the majority rules.................LEON!!

Thanks kohdy! After wearing my MM for a while I realised that a thinner band and a higher setting was really a lot more flattering to the stone and my hand. Soooooo... the great search continued. I think that Leon is the answer to my indecision. I didn't post the under-side view of that setting, thought I would just add it now for fun. The rail has diamonds on both sides of it - yummo!

a

p.s. I think I would nix the diamonds that would be sitting in contact with the top of my finger on the 'donut'

I agree, those underneath stones aren''t really necessary. Also, is that a purple stone at the bottom? Kind of cool, but you could save money by skipping all of that detail.

you know I have never noticed that purple shadow before, and now I can''t stop focussing on it. I think it''s just a shadow...I hope it''s just a shadow...but I can tell you there will be no purple stone sitting at the bottom of my ring!

Oh my goodness - definitely LEON!!

The Michael B you posted isn''t even in the same LEAGUE as the Leon.
Ditto. It sounds like you''ve already decided, but count me in for another vote for the Leon. I am very picky, and I''m not wild about the head on the Michael B, but as soon as I saw the picture of the Leon it was no contest.

Angeline~! That underside of that ring is just so beautiful that I am having a hard time breathing!!! I have never seen anything quite like it!!!
30.gif
The diamonds at the bottom seem a bit unecessary, but it really does add some character and charm to the ring! It''s screaming "I AM ONE OF A KIND!!!"
36.gif
I actually really like that aspect of your LEON setting. But of course, if you want to rid of them, that''s fine too, especially if it is going to make a huge difference in price. It''s not like people will get to really see that anyway!!!
9.gif
The purple spot at the bottom I think is just a reflection. I don''t think there is a purple stone at the bottom. Please share photos of the finished product as soon as you are able!!! I will be counting days!!!

The question is whether you want something to look like tiffany''s solitaire or if you want the unique and brilliant work of an artist.

If you want the look of a tiffany''s solitaire, MM''s sunburst doesn''t really replicate the design much. However, his sunburst setting is stunning and nothing beats the craftsmanship, polish, and finish of a MM ring.
