I just read the Russell Simmons book, "Success Through Stillness." This book is well written and I just started with meditation per its instructions.
I can't manage the lotus position after breaking my leg and knee in 3 places (2 years ago with 3 months of immobility and atrophy) but I'm working on it. For now, I have released myself from any self-criticism for NOT being able to get in a lotus position and instead I'm using a chair to sit in.
Do we have any PSers who meditate? If so, for how long have you been meditating? What benefits have you seen from it? Any tips for beginners would be appreciated.
I went on the TM.org website, in my state their instruction runs at about $1000.
My goal is to achieve better blood pressure, resistance to stressors, and a clear and calm mind.
