MayK - We have you and your DD in our prayers!!

Keeping you and your daughter in my thoughts, hoping for a quick bounce back to normalcy.

Continued love and light to heal her, and blessings on all who are concerned. Much love and dust!

Another update post surgeon visit:
DD will be leaving ICU today!! A day ahead of schedule! :appl:

:appl: :appl: :appl:

Thank you for the updates, Enerchi!

Mayk, your daughter and her medical team remain in my prayers!

Enerchi, was there a thread preceding this one explaining the nature of the spinal problem. I'd appreciate a link to catch up.

In any case, I hope the doctor can prescribe meds to ease that horrific pain.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mom, and your dear daughter.

Monday morning update from MayK:

DD was up twice sitting in a chair yesterday - 30 minutes and 90 minutes!! YAY!! but still in a lot of pain. Today will be the day she tries taking some steps. Both mom and daughter are exhausted but REALLY REALLY appreciate being in your thoughts and thank you for your prayers and good wishes!!

Wonderful, wonderful news!!! Thank you so much for passing it on, Enerchi!

Sending love, hugs, and ongoing prayers,
Deb

a day ahead of schedule! amazing! and that means some really good healing is going on! :appl:

Happy to be able to pass along the progress reports! There can never be too many people praying for someone special or sending too many good wishes, right? ;))

Isaku - I don't know if there was a consolidated thread where MayK posted all the details. I know she has shared in the past on different threads, that this has been a long ongoing issue w scoliosis for her daughter and there has been residual pain for a period of time now. They did finally find a new specialist and that brought them to this surgical option.

So good to know she's moving along well, on the road to a pain free future...

I've been silently following along and sending prayers/positive thoughts their way. SO happy to hear the positive updates and that she getting out of ICU a day early. That's fantastic!!!

Quick update because I was asked to leave to go eat. It's been a long journey since Friday and I can't thank you enough for the thoughts, prayers and wishes. We have been so blessed. Still a very long road but she is making major steps and is a fighter like I've never seen even when mad at me for encouraging her to get our doctor's orders accomplished.

We love our surgeon his support doctors and all the teams we have worked with. For someone who has never experienced surgery and ICU nothing I was told could have adequately prepared me or DD until we were in the middle of our journey.

I think her picture will speak volumes! It brings tears to my eyes.

It's a snapshot I took shared with me post surgery. Prepare to have your breath taken away.

When she sat across from me yesterday for the first time tears ran down my face. Her shoulders are even. The road ahead still has bumps but she's comet through the surgery and first 48 hours like a rock star.

Not editing because I need to get back!!!

Heartfelt thanks. Enerchri. Thank you so much for posting.

So happy your DD is progressing and sending more thoughts and prayers for an easy and successful recovery. She's an amazing girl and quite the fighter. (Just like her mama bear)

What a blessing that you had a great surgeon in a wonderful hospital able to work miracles

I'm hoping your DD keeps healing quickly, MayK :wavey:

Oh my heart! It's bursting for your daughter!

Much love and continued positive thoughts to both of you as you continue into the long recovery period.

Oh my gosh, there are no adequate words. Your poor DD (and you too!!) have been through so much. Wow, what an amazing improvement. I can't wait to read about how much her life improves on her road to recovery. Big hugs from a PS stranger and continued prayers that she recovers quickly!

Still in my thoughts and prayers. I showed the xray pictures to my DH who spent 10 hours in the hospital yesterday and is on bedrest now for severely straining his back. He was amazed at the pics. I told him "this girl is in more pain than you", jokingly. We are thinking of your DD and family. I hope her pain abates soon! What a difference this is going to make in her life. Just thrilled for you all.

I have tears in my eyes for you and your DD. I'm so glad the surgery went well! Can't wait to hear more updates!

Big big Internet hugs to you and your daughter! Fantastic X-rays. You are both so strong and brave. :appl:
I'm glad they kicked you out to eat. I know it's desperately hard to leave when someone is in the ICU, but do try to eat, sleep, bathe, and take the odd short walk outside.
I'm so happy your daughter is doing well. :D

Wonderful x-rays! It looks like a whole new spine! :appl: :appl:

Big hugs and positive thoughts continuing your way!
