I love people names for pets, and I especially love ones that are a bit unique. I think Cindy sounds *awesome*!

She is BEAUTIFUL!!!!! What a wonderful thing you are doing in thinking about rescuing such a sweetie. She has a wonderful face :)) I agree that sadie is a REALLY common dog name - my sister's dog's name is sadie.

She has such a mature and distinguished face - it kind of reminds me of old hollywood. What about a throwback name like betty (davis) or ella (fitzgerald) or even billie (holiday)? I also like sylvie for her because of her silver hair :cheeky:

But please take my suggestions with a grain of salt, because my new(er) dog is named Rhonda after the beach boys' song ;))

She's sooooooooooo beautiful! You're both so lucky!

My first thought when I saw her was "PENELOPE"!! Penny for short? Though, I do prefer Penelope!

Penny is good...

Nova? Because she is new?

Vicky? Because she got adopted into a nice home, she won...

Lucky?

Or Maggie?

Shelly? (Has an SH sound, I am not sure about dogs but I have heard that cats are sensitive to it... Perhaps dogs are as well?)

Actually, I like "Sheila" for women. Can she be "Sheila"?

Update? Was it allergies? Did I miss the follow up?

I ultimately decided that I wasn't ready. I was still mourning the loss of Molly and not ready to take on another dog. Having had her stay with me for two weekends, I knew I wasn't ready. And it certainly wouldn't have been fair to her to adopt her and not be ready for the change.

Funnily enough, I did react to her again that weekend, but I don't understand it, because I don't react to dogs usually. It's only ever been her. I still think it was a conincidence, and that is not why I chose not to adopt her.

I heard from the foster Mom though, and she went to a very good home.

I'm still very upset about having lost Molly (in case I wasn't clear, she didn't die, the Ex got her in our separation). She turned 2 on September 14 and I cried a lot that day. I wasn't even sure the Ex would remember it was her birthday, let alone do anything about it.

I also got to thinking about scheduling. When living with the Ex, even though we both had kind of crazy schedules, they were kind of opposite so someone was usually home with the dog in the evenings (just alone during work day hours).

With me living alone now, it wouldn't be the case. I have class 3 nights a week on top of working full time. I do have an hour break at lunch and between work and class that I could go visit her, but she'd still have been MOSTLY alone from 7:30am-9:30pm on class days. And usually a few other days/nights during the week I'm out meeting groups and doing homework, papers, projects, etc.

So for now, I'm just sticking with my cat, Darwin. He seems to be quite fine with being alone (he's about 9 1/2 and other than the 1 1/2 of living with Molly, has been exclusively an only child). He sits in the windows all day and naps and watches the squirrels. What a life.

Thanks for checking. I really adored this little girl - and had I been in a better place, I couldn't have asked for a better dog.
