Just realized why I got so attached to the zircon oval. It's a very similar color to my 6 month old puppy's coat. And she (horribly) won't live very long, which is a tragedy bc she's the best dog we've ever had. See sad thread in Hangouts for more info. Your puppy is such a beautiful girl and has the sweetest face. I’m sorry to hear that she is sick. It must be heartbreaking. It’s so nice you were able to find a zircon in her coloring.

Your baby is so adorable, and I’m so sorry to hear that she is sick. I love that you have a beautiful gem to remind you of her always. They really touch our hearts in ways that words have no ability to express. Maybe you could do a paw print hidden on the setting of this one, or somehow integrate another connection to her into the setting to make it even more meaningful.

@lovedogs, I just picked up one of your rejects, the 2.95 ct one! Was looking at another yellow zircon of similar size, but I actually like this one better in your photos, so when I saw it show up again, I got it. Also got a small yellow sapphire, wish I saved the link!

I wonder if something darker around the zircon might help make it less blendy with your skin tone? Like maybe an air gap before the halo, you could oxidise it, though that would only work if you were going for a vintage look.

Can anyone comment on the emeralds at Mastercutgems? I am looking for a green gem, either an emerald or a tsavorite. There is not much mentioning of their emeralds here; I am wondering why.

Just got my stones! It’s raining here, so the photos are not the greatest, but I really like them both. The sapphire is really neat, with what appears to be two small blue areas that are only visible some of the time. For some reason, my phone doesn’t capture the color of the zircon on my hand. The pictures on the white background are much more accurate for the color that I’m seeing, it’s more golden/peachy than beige. Also got a pair of cute opals as a gift!

My ring is done. The pear is what I bought from the sale. It’s a 1.56 re cut from a 1.66 Sri Lankan sapphire. It’s a pinky ring in 14k yellow gold in stone finish.
