Bezels could easily be swapped into prongs.
I don’t want a colored stone halo I don’t think it will emphasize the color of the stone the way I want. If I do something besides a simple halo I think it would be a double halo with the outer halo being some metal work

This isn’t a good example of the pave work I would want bead set but you get the idea. Or similar to vintagelovers halo but obviously a simpler shank and the outer halo being gold

Hi Niel :))

I'm currently doing a ring with DKJ with a double halo around a grey spinel. The inner halo is tiny (1.2mm) little rubies, and the outer halo is 3mm diamond rounds. So the rubies function visually in a similar way to what your collet idea does. I love the idea of what is basically a frame between your stone and halo - but I don't think metal works well with light colored stones; it can look heavy without being decorative. Instead of a collet, would you consider colored stones - or even tiny black diamonds? This would be a wonderful and interesting match with some awesome yellow nail polish I once saw you post a photo of! :))

If you decide to do a white diamond halo, I'd check to make sure your diamond is yellow enough; if the contrast isn't strong enough, the yellow of your diamond will get overwhelmed and sort of bleed into the rest of the setting. Would you consider a yellow gold cup under the center stone? That would definitely give it some color-heft!

I don’t know how to be more clear about this.

I do not want a colored stone halo.

My stone is graded fancy light brown yellow and it’ll be just fine - and as I’ve said the fake bezel around the stone will be meant to enhance the color. Of course I’d considered a cup- but it doesn’t fit my lifestyle of needing to clean it thoroughly every day.

I guess agree to disagee on what’s best for this stone.

Ugh - I thought I'd seen all the pieces that are your preferences - I must have missed the part about the colored stone halo. Sorry about that! We don't need to agree to disagree - if I'd known what you wanted, i would never have suggested it.

And of course you've considered a cup. And I was just thinking out loud. I did read about 60 posts tho, so I was trying to get in touch with what you wanted.

In fact - I apologize for and retract my entire post! I'm sure you'll come up with something fabulous.

My post came off snarky I know boo I am sorry.

I’m having a month.

I posted the singlestone ring but saw you already addressed it.

No problem. If you were here in Boston you would have been way snarkier - it's 87 degrees, with a 'real feel' of 96 (granted, not tooo horrible)...and a humidity factor of roughly 5 zillion percent. And we're having an outside dinner party this evening for 10 and I'm doing a roast. So basically, we're all going to die.

Seriously, I'm sure you'll do a fabulous job with your diamond - but I stand by my suggestion that you wear it with the yellow nail polish. :))
