Looking for pics of your solitaire e-ring, in a cathedral setting with pave (on only one side) and a milgrain edge. I'm looking for one that's delicate and has softer/thinner edges, and that is holding an appx. 2 carat stone.

http://www.artofplatinum.com/vault/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1&Itemid=1 Has quite a few of them.

You are looking for (in Leon Lingo)... Cathedral Solitaire with One sided Bright Cut Pave and millegrain. By the way if this is what you are looking for, Leon Mege and Bridget Durnell and Steven Kirsch and Victor Canera are the three designers I would recommend if you want a handmade ring.

http://artofplatinum.com/vault/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=972&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 Here is is with pave on the crossbar of the basket as well.

Here it is without millegrain: http://artofplatinum.com/vault/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=1119&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 But Bright Cut Pave is very easy to add millegrain to.

Here is a GORGEOUS brightcut pave ring... I don't know if it has the millegrain (but again it is a detail that is added at the end, very easy to do)... the profile of this ring is TO DIE FOR: https://www.pricescope.com/blog/jewel-week-bridget-durnell-engagement-ring
Not a 2 carat center, but with a setting like that, who cares! This is my favorite bright cut pave cathedral solitaire. More pics of it... So bright cut pave has edges to it, right? Which is why it's easy to add millgrain to after the fact? And this is different from other types of pave (cut down, mushroom, fishtail) which doesn't have metal edges?

Have you ever seen bright cut (with or without milgrain) that has curved edges? Is that even possible? For some reason, a lot of the milgrain stuff I see looks way too harsh - very rigid angles in the shank/band of the ring...

I get what you are saying. They can comfort fit the part that touches the fingers, But if you mean curve the outer wall around the pave so it's rounded... You can email Victor or Bridget or Steven (um... don't email Leon with questions like that) but I suspect the answer is no.

And yes, that wall/edge is what sets bright cut apart, and that's exactly why they can add millegrain later to flank the pave.

If you don't care for brightcut, you can get millegrain on the ring in other places than on both sides of the of the pave.

Or just get a different type of pave and forget the milgrain.

Personally I love the look of a brightcut pave shank.

Yea I used to love pave that was cutdown or had very little metal on the edges, but now when I look at rings with that, it looks too much like costume jewelry to me. Now I love the edges.
