Calling @DejaWiz, @Kim N and @sledge, and any other cut experts willing to chime in!

I'm looking to replace a pair of diamond studs, with lab stones. They were WF ACAs, so I'm hoping to get something at least comparable in regards to cut. I'm partial to lower colours (I/J, maybe even K if the cut is killer). I'd want each stone to be at least .70ct, but would of course go bigger if there are a couple of great stones out there. I'm in Australia so ideally I'd like to keep the pair under $1000AUD to avoid paying duty, but I could buy the stones individually at different times if that's unrealistic...then sets the challenge of finding a good match, though I am in no hurry.

I'm not the most knowledgeable in terms of parameters, but I think I've got the basics. I spotted this stone - I'm not necessarily set on it, but I'm after some opinions to see if I'm on the right track. My priorities are cut, size and eye cleanliness regardless of clarity grades, with colour as a solid last.

What say you, o wise ones?

Many thanks!

Proportions look okay. What gives me pause is that while a 35/40.8 combo can work, I’ve stumbled on many that had issues when ASET’s were available and they were super ideals.

So I am cautious with that combo. If you were state side I’d gamble more, encourage you to buy your own scopes so you can confirm from the comfort of your home and return and exchange any duds.

But what jumped off the charts most to me was the faint brown tint noted on the report. I understand you are looking warmer and K’s will have some color but generally it’s yellow, not brown. It may be hard to match but moreso not everyone loves brown undertones as it can make the stone look dirty. That said, @lovedogs managed to find an awesome CBI that had faint brown and was a stunner.

It’s late/early AM where I’m at so I will take a look for some stones on your behalf. Since you’ve had ACA’s have you considered the BGD lab stones? They are H&A stones.

BGD may have been a bad idea. I was sneaking a peek before going to bed and noticed they cut off about G color and started around 1 carat.

Not sure what they have in the pike, might be worth a call to Leslie to find out.

Unfortunately, I'm not finding much for I-L in your price realm. I increased color to include G and lower, but most of what I'm seeing (with diamonds bearing proportions and cut quality that I'd recommend) are CVD that have a brownish-pink or grayish-pink hue, many with noticeably growth graining. Too risky, in my mind.

If you were to order two diamonds separately, then what would the max budget be for each diamond and highest color grades (G-L, H-K, i-K, etc) that you're comfortable with?

These are bigger than you requested, but both are beautifully cut.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond! I'd like to keep each diamond under $700 if possible, and I'm not fussy on colour, if the higher grades are all that's available, I'm very ok with that!

Thanks so much!! I'm hoping to keep each stone under $6-700AUD each (the exchange rate SUCKS!!), but those are really glorious stones you picked.

I did have a look, but they're a bit much $$ for this project unfortunately. But I'm sure they're amazing!

Cruising quickly on my mobile I found these. More white than you want and not H&A like your ACA’s but proportions are right inline with ACA guidelines.

56 table, 34.2c / 40.7p, 61.8 depth

56 table, 34.6c / 40.7p, 61 depth

You're amazing, thank you! I love the 0.91, I hadn't entertained the idea of going bigger, and I think I was a bit stuck on my usual colour parameters...but you've really reminded me to open my mind a bit more and delve outside the 'usual'. Thanks so much! That is the front runner so far!

@sledge just a quick fly by to thank you very much again, I just bought the 0.91 and will keep an eye on Ritani for a match for it over the coming months. Excited to have bigger stones than I first planned!

Glad to see we found you a winner!

Are you holding back on purchasing a match while you budget/save or just not happy with currently available stones? And are you locked to Ritani or open to others such as JA, BN, etc?

Definitely open to other sellers! I couldn't see a good match on Ritani (the 0.89 you posted sold) but I think I'd best wait to receive the diamond and make sure it's a winner to my eyes before I shop for a match. At that point I'll likely heckle you again for your advice

Many thanks!
