Looking for help in choosing a diamond

Hi,

I have been lurking on this site for a while, really appreciating the information.

I am looking for a diamond for an engagement ring. So far, my studies have whittled it down to:

~1.25 to ~1.5 carats
H or I color
VS2 or better
3x Excellent
HCA <2
Price - as low as I can go, but getting quotes from here for ~$6100

Question: So I have gotten a quote from a source on here. I have received a picture and the GIA certificate. Is there any other things I should look for to make sure I am not getting ripped off?

Sorry I don't have much input but most people on here are going to want to see aset/idealscope pictures. See if the jeweler will take them for you.

I would suggest using vendors who supply ASET and idealscope images as well as a magnified image of the stone. Not sure where you are looking but I don't see GIA XXX 1.25 H VS2s (HCA under 2) for $6100. Hard to find well cut I VS2 at that price.
