In my last thread, I inquired about fixing my great-grandmothers ring.

I got many suggestions for SingleStone. I am sure I will not be disappointed in the work by SS, but I was thinking it would be nice to be able to work with someone locally.

Does anyone know an excellent bench in the Bay Area? I have to imagine there is someone great in SF. Maybe Lang Antiques or Van Craeynest?

Thanks

I haven't worked with Van Craeynest, but considered them for my ering project and Larry was very nice on the phone. Their work is pricey though, so I'd definitely get more than one estimate from trusted jewelers. I can't comment on Lang's.

Joe Escobar in Campbell has a good reputation with regard to the jewelery they sell, though not sure about repairs and the like.

I don't think VC does repair work, but Langs and Darren MCClung do have good benches as does Joe Escobar. I'd trust them with the repairs.
