I bought my 10ct blue green aqua from Ivy and Rose in Chicago. It is the most gorgeous color. I think I paid about a thousand for it. I’d shoot them an email, they are really good at sourcing and should have no issue shipping. 14127772-C75B-447E-9C84-C4365EB67970.jpeg E17767B0-71CA-4B5B-8188-0382384188C9.jpeg

I wanted a blue colored aquamarine w/o and green undertones last year. I think the greener rough is a little easier to find. There can be a bit of a wait but there are several of these guys that have banned together and their prices are great. I paid less then $300 for a precision cut 9mm (about 3 carats). I had Jim cut mine but you can talk to Lindsey (u/earlysong.). I know they have shipped all over the world.

Thanks everyone

I am considering the asscher cut flashy flamingo posted it is certainly great bag for my buck!

I also received images of another two stones which are also asscher (I am really liking this cut!) which might be a little more green?

What do people think

Thanks everyone for all the advice and suggestions. I have gone for one of the ones I posted above.

Now I need to decide what to do about setting. Is there a part of the forum that is best for asking these types of questions?

Thanks again

You can ask here. Easier than creating a new thread I think.

So now I am wondering how to set this gem.
This is the one I purchased

I am still tossing up two overall styles that I love for it. I assume the first one would be the least expensive as it is the simplest. Something like Princess Dianas Aquamarine setting or a more 70s style cocktail statement ring.

However I do love Art Deco settings as per the other images.

I have an old ring with a substantial amount of gold and some decent sized side stones.

Would it be more cost effective to find a setting to have it put into or to have my old ring remade. My old ugly ring is also pictured below. It was handmade so I doubt the head can be removed from the band and perhaps re-doing it is more costly than finding someone to make a setting?

If anyone can also recommend anyone good with the Art Deco style settings that would be wonderful. Or a place I can purchase a setting from and have set at a jeweller here in Australia.

I will need to pay this ring off in instalments. This is a big deal for me and I know the stone was not the most costly but I love the colour and at 8ct I feel it can make a reasonable statement ring.

Any advice or other suggestions are most welcome

I have already posted my Asscher Cut Natural Blue Topaz and White Topaz step cut traps all cut by Doug Menadue previously in this thread.

This is the inspiration ring for an Assher cut Amethyst, the stone itself is 8.4mm x 8.4mm.

This is the CAD that I have approved, with full bezels for all the stones as I do not like claws or prongs.

I personally would not halo a square stone regardless of the cut.

Personal preferences and all that.
