Hi all! I am having my "engagement" ring reset as a 3 stone RHR/cocktail ring. It's a 3 carat/8mm cushion lab Alexandrite. I took it to my preferred jeweler yesterday to discuss and we decided on pears for the side stones, somewhere between .35 and .4 carats each.

Since the stone itself isn't terribly valuable, being synthetic, I'd like to keep the cost of the diamonds fairly low as well, ideally under $1000. It will be set in white gold so keeping the stones above about an I is probably best. Obviously I've done a bit of hunting myself but would love to know what PS thinks a good pair would be.

Thank you in advance!

Finding pairs of pears is tough and takes a lot of patience. I looked for months and my maker finally found a pair for me.
1) Alexandrite can vary in color, but often looks quite pretty with other colors. If you are open to color and or other shapes folks on the Colored stone board will have loads of ideas.
2) Look for diamond earrings (old or new) and stick with nicer stones. You can find pears.
3) What about moissanite? We can't discuss on this board, but JHollywood has Neo pears. resorsDuJour on Etsy also has some options.
4) Change up your design a bit. Finding rounds is much easier...I really like this for a side stone arrangement.
