This is a silly question, but is there any shirt color I should avoid (or wear) when I go to look at some diamonds tomorrow?

I am wondering for reflection reasons.

Thanks

Not a silly question at all! It has been said in the past to avoid dark and brightly coloured shirts, as the diamonds can in some cases pick up tints and darkness of these, so maybe a pale neutral might be best with your shirt choice.

I would say don''t wear yellow.

I once visited a jewelry store to check out some diamonds and all of their diamonds, even the DEF ones looked unduly yellow and I was turned off... The jeweler noticing my aversion to the color referred me to their walls .... they were painted yellow!

Needless to say they had some reno work scheduled within the next couple of weeks to fix that.

Okay... so I am thinking a light grey sweater. I also thought yellow might not be a good idea, for that reason exactly (reflection of yellow in all the stones).

How silly their walls were yellow!

I would also avoid light grey, possibly white might be your best choice to keep the colours you are viewing as '' pure'' as possible. Also coloured walls may have an effect, so see if you can view your choices in normal light / daylight if possible too.

So white it is then

Yeah this store has a room they use to view diamonds and one wall is pure glass blocks, so lots of daylight as lighting!

Sounds good, and good luck for tomorrow! Let us know how you get on
