I bought this diamond from Fortekitty last summer. I couldn't figure out what exactly I wanted to do with it. I wanted it in yellow gold, but I don't tend to wear yg. I thought about a pendant, but wanted to see its lovely faceting. I just couldn't commit. Then I saw this setting on JuliaB's Etsy site, and thought it would be perfect. The yellow gold/yellow diamond halo would bring out the yellow in the tranny, but I'd still have the majority of the ring in white gold, which I tend to like more against my skin tone. The double halo beefs up the smaller stone, and in the sunlight…POW! Probably the blingiest ring I now own.
When I got home, I looked at it under different lighting. In my kitchen, it did something that I thought was totally cool. I believe someone else on PS posted a similar stone a while ago, that had a shift to grey-green. This looks like a cross between a grey diamond and a Montana sapphire or mint garnet. Since I'm more of a CS junkie than diamond one, I dig it!
