Let's talk about CS projects in progress

So I posted about this in my own pad thread...but now I'm conflicted about setting ideas. Namely I now I have 2 pendant designs, but am also contemplating doing a ring (lol).

The pad in question:




Should I stick with my original idea of doing a pendant:

Lariat design:


Lotus leaf pad design:



OR go in a completely different direction and just create a ring? I've recently fallen in love with the look/feel of McTeigue & McCelland's Flora Embrace design...and think it'd be lovely in rose gold (which I think would pair best with the pad):



Thoughts/comments? Can someone help out my indecisive butt here lol?

Multicolored halo sounds good. We had been thinking of something simple like this.

Yes, that's the idea. Although I was originally thinking of a ring with a multicolor CS halo I saw on 1stdibs (either paraiba or lightning ridge opal center stone), I can no longer find the image on Google. You can do something really cool with that yummy color gem silica!

Your Kunzite is beautiful @prs !
I can see the lovely gem silica in a halo setting that’s a marquise or pod type shape, with some type of accent or stone to fill in the space between the rounded end of the stone and the halo at the pointed ends of the setting. I hope what I am trying to describe makes sense.. I love the dramatic look of elongated pendants with pointed ends.

I haven’t set much lately. The local jeweler I trust to set my stones has become increasingly in demand and I sense he struggles to find the time to set my stones in settings I purchased elsewhere when he has expensive custom jobs lined up, which I completely understand! I’m so happy for him, it has just put a damper on me getting around to setting stones.

I took a leap and ordered a couple of settings from James Allen during their 25% off sale and sent a couple of sapphires I purchased from Gene to them to set. They should be back to me in the next couple of weeks. I have never had them set a CS, so I’m a little nervous, but I‘m hoping all goes well!

I also am switching out a blue sapphire for a spess garnet in a Yvonne Sunflower ring with Mahenge Spinel petals melee, to have a stronger pop of color.

After that, I am going to try to take a break from buying and setting and figure out what my end goals are.
I’m exited to see everyone’s projects!

Thank you! I’ll share pictures of the finished pieces as soon as they arrive. They were supposed to ship out to me yesterday, then it showed they would ship today and now it’s showing a ship date of tomorrow. With everything that’s going on in the world it‘s completely understandable though. I’m excited to see how they turn out.

Thanks Leslie, me too! We started the project in early March (Yvonne had all the stones in hand by that point), so getting this ring felt like a precious present to brighten my day.

Thanks. I bought the center stone and the 10 small ovals together at Yvonne's sale at the end of last year; I had the idea to do the Clarisse with them before I hit check out, and I asked her to source me a pair of matching pear shaped spinels at Tucson this February to complete the inner halo for the look. I knew from the very beginning that it's only going to be more difficult to put together a matching suite, since by all accounts I've been hearing how scarce Burmese spinel material is getting these days. However challenging it might be, this ring couldn't have happened without Yvonne. From the design and inspiration (how could I if she didn't have the ovals in her Etsy shop), to the actual work of making the ring, it was all CRD, and I think they did a wonderful job.

Actually with a convertible it’s even less thinking. Just the base needs to change. Super easy. I highly rec for versatility
