Let's post pet photos!

Those are very pretty cats. I know the elderly one is a dsh, but what are the others? is Maggie in one of those outdoor fenced in play areas?

On October 11, 2011, our very special Farley became deathly ill. We rushed him to the emergency clinic where he stayed for 9 days. He was in kidney failure, extremely dehydrate and couldn't even keep water down. Long story short, he was diagnosed with 2 types of cancer -- thyroid cancer and lymphoma. He put up a valiant fight for 6 week while undergoing chemotheraphy but sadly lost his battle with cancer and we were forced to put him down November 30th, 2011. We debated whether or not to get another dog as it was such a heartrenching experience. In the end, we just missed having the love and companionship that a wonderful dog can provide. On March 23, 2012, we brought home our beautiful new boy Riley. He is such a joy and has so many of Farley's wonderful qualities. I have attached photos of both our beautiful and much loved Farley as well as our new boy Riley.

The boys are Savannah cats -- Juba Kai, Maliik & Taji. Maggie is in a hammock in the boys enclosure. I'm having the patio screened in as we speak so they have more room and I'm trying to sell the enclosure.

Everyone's babies are so cute! I flip over furbaby pictures. But, distracts, Gwen is so adorably beautiful! Please give her a little pat from me.

At our house, we have 3 kitties and a pup. Our Dagan-cat just recently had to be put to sleep due to cancer (he's the first pic), and Lilly is going on 19, so we decided to adopt a pair of litter-mates. They're about 5.5 years old. Our pup is about 8 years old. Black pets are hard to photograph well!

He still looks so sweet in his last days. :((

She used to sleep like this a lot.

Rare non-eye glare pic!

Prometheus looks a bit perturbed, but Atlas thinks it's a great place to sleep!

Your new boy is adorable (and so is Farley). Losing a pet is very hard.

It's true black pets are hard to photograph. Dragon-cat was a beautiful cat.

Great photos, I find pets so hard to photograph - usually as soon as I get the camera out whatever it is i'm taking a picture of comes up to investigate. I'm so sorry to those who have lost pets on this thread.

This is my nearly two year old cat Claude. He's very spoilt and has a weakness for toast.

All the pets are so cute.

What breed of bunneh is that? It is so adorable I want one!

My two big lovebugs, Bella, our Golden Ret., and Woogie, a Black Lab/Boxer/Great Dane/some hound/Pit mix, our recent shelter rescue.

Everyone's furballs are adorable!

I'd like to know as well. Gwen is absolutely adorable.

Professional Photos of Oliver the rabbit. (Yes, I had my pet professionally photographed, I'm one of those people).

He's almost 2.5 years old, a Dutch rabbit "plus" we call him "Dutch Plus" because he's clearly not a purebred Dutch rabbit. He has exceptionally long ears and extra large back feet.

I love him, completely. And, since his bday is Dec. 16th, making one of his birthstones Tanzanite, I've been collecting Tanzanites ever since I've had him.

My darling boy, Darwin, who is a little over 10 years old:

My Molly. I lost her last year in my separation from my (now ex) BF of 6 years.

I miss her dearly. She was born on 9/14/09 and will be three this year.

And Mimi! After almost a year of being without my Molly, I finally feel ready to move on. I've decided to adopt Mimi, another miniature schnauzer. She was also born on 9/14 (albeit in 2002 and not 2009) but it felt like a sign that she was right for me. She was saved from a puppy mill raid in Alabama and we're currently working out the logistics on how to get her to Florida. She'll be 10 this year, about the same age as my cat.

Oh, audball, your story breaks my heart - that you had to give up your pet under those circumstances! I'm so glad you are able to give Mimi love and a real home. She needs you and it sounds like you need her as well. Best wishes to you, Mimi, and Darwin. All of your babies are beauties!

Thank you, kefira, it means a lot. I don't have Mimi yet, we're working on trying to get her from the foster home in Alabama to me in Florida. We're about 9 hours apart. There are some volunteers who are agreeing to drive her certain portions of it. We should be able to get her within 2-3 hours of Tampa.

I'm so glad there's a network of people to try to help bring you two together. I'm also glad to see you post about this here - I saw your initial post in your thread about this, but it made me think about losing my kitty recently, so I've been avoiding reading the whole thread. I have my fingers crossed that you will soon have a new furry friend to love and cuddle.

Also, innerkitten, thank you for your kind words.

Thanks! The thread really isn't very sad. There are a few posts, but it's mostly happy stories about people loving their pets and encouraging me to move on and love another. I'm sorry about your loss though, it's really hard no matter how they're taken from you.

Omg that bunny is cute. Is he litter trained?

Gwen is a girl, and yes she is. I don't think I'd be able to tolerate a pet that wasn't litter-trained, lol.

Gosh all these cats are so cute! I want to hug and pet them all!

StacylikesSparkles, your cat George looks just like my childhood cat. Except friendlier. I loooove the picture of him all stretched out with his furry little tummy! I just want to poke it!

Maisie, the picture of your cat and dog together is SOOOOOO cute.

How do you litter train a bunny? I had enough trouble with my SO ;)

I know less than nothing about cats, and have no idea what a "dsh" is (what is it?). I just wanted to say that I, also, was struck by the beauty of your spotted cats, Matata. Are those spots hallmarks of Savannah cats?

This thead is making me long to cuddle animals I never thought of owning, like bunnies, and want to go out and get myself another Golden Retriever like Farley. What a gorgeous boy he was! He was far lighter blonde than my Brit, who was a medium Golden, but he has that sweetness of expression that she had. I am so sorry for your loss, Farleysmom. And for yours, kefira. Your new baby, Riley, is adorable, Farleysmom.

All the pets are adorable!

This is my most favorite thread, thus far! I LOVE everyone's babies!! Oh and George is the friendliest, happiest cat I know...I just love that guy!

I didn't litter train Ollie, he trained himself. Like cats, rabbits don't like to soil their beds, etc. Oliver has picked one corner of his crate to use as his bathroom. He never deviates from using this corner, and it makes clean up for me a breeze. The advantage to cleaning up after a herbivore is that his poop doesn't smell. Urine does, if you leave it for a while, but the little "coco puffs" have no odor. It's such a change from a catbox. Oliver is free to roam around the house when we are home and I leave the door to his crate open so he can "go" if he needs to. Works perfectly! :D

AAAAAAAH TANZIGRRL OLIVER IS SOOOOO CUTE. He looks so friendly and alert. I bet he gets up to lots of mischief - you can see it in his eyes in the picture where he's laying down.

Hahaha, I am so familiar with that problem. I have a million pictures of twitchy little noses being shoved into the camera lens.

Your cat Claude is soooo cute and looks so soft. What kind is he?

She's a Holland Lop. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holland_Lop
IMO she looks like a living stuffed animal. And acts kind of like one too - you can tote her all over the house tucked under an arm, for example. Even when she's running and playing, she just looks... fake. Like she can't possibly be real because nothing real is THAT cute.

Heee, I don't think I can help with your SO. As Tanzigrrl said, bunnies naturally pick a place to go to the bathroom (usually a corner of their cage), and if you put a litterbox there - voila, litter-trained! It's kind of a misnomer, really, but it makes your rabbit look very domesticated. So when you first get them, you confine them to the cage until they are used to going in the place where the litterbox is, and then you slowly expand the area they are allowed to roam so that they get used to going back to their litterbox from farther and farther distances. I don't know if all rabbits will do this, but Gwen will use something recognizable as a litterbox even if it's not in the usual place, if she is also not in her usual place. When she stays at my parent's house, if she is allowed to roam the living room, you can plop a litterbox anywhere in the room and she'll go to it to do her business.

I love the professional photos! As a fellow gemstone lover I feel that buying tanzanite based on it being your rabbit's birthstone is a perfectly good reason :)

distracts, I'm so glad you posted Gwen's photos in this thread. She's super cute. Somewhere else recently, there was some kind of thread where you mentioned that you had a bunny and I asked you about her and then that thread fell of the page or something. Anyway, Holland Lops are so cute. Very sweet bunny!

innerkitten, like I needed another "reason" to collect a type of gemstone, right? But, a pet's birthstone is as good a reason as any, I think!

I saw your story here in the hangout section. I was also a little scared to read the whole thing at first cause I was worried it would be too sad. I'm rooting for you as far as the adoption process goes. Mimi looks very sweet and your cat has some amazing green eyes.
