Let's play a game... rainbow gems.

Welp, technically red should be back up, but since we sort of messed up before, let's start again with ORANGE. Or just post whatever you like... it's all good!

Just to get us past orange
I've posted it before but it's project never came to fruition because I wasn't feeling it
I'll work in onto something pearly probably

Yep, that counts! lol Have you shared this before? If so, I sadly missed it. I'm glad you shared it here, because I'm over here fanning myself. An asscher emerald band? Stahhhp! :kiss2:

Thank you! I think I'm PSer #3 to own it, I bought it off of the preloved forum. It's a 2/3 eternity, size 7.75, and I know nothing about the estimated carat weight or anything. I did hear that the emeralds were cut by Sako's dad. Here's CvB's post:
And a hand shot:

I love the open bezel work... doesn't interfere with the look of the band, but it protects in all the right places. This is gorgeous!! P.S. Is that your hand? Lovely, long fingers!

Would love to see more photos and close ups of your “pigeon egg” jadeite!
(Does Singapore also use 鸽子蛋 for large oval cabs?)

Haha, yes the term 鸽子蛋 or pigeon egg is used but not that often, partly because we don’t see many jadeite of that size.
I just realised that pigeons get quite a lot of attention – Pigeon Blood Red, and now pigeon eggs.
I don’t think the ring I showed above qualifies as a pigeon egg,, maybe only a hummingbird egg :lol-2:
Maybe Minerva could qualify as an almost pigeon egg?
The only clear;ly pigeon egg sized item I have is the 30ct rubellite.IMG_0259.jpeg

Hahaha we don’t discriminate between egg sizes! Your rubellite is beautiful, and of course, no words for Minerva…:kiss2:

Back to red. This is a Thai ruby. IMG_9811.jpegIMG_9807.jpegIMG_9802.jpeg

What an interesting shape on this girl... she looks quite clean and glowy too, with a true red. Kudos!!

And since orange seems to trip everyone up, here’s a Mexican fire opal. Wish I could get the purple flashes to show up image.jpg

Thank you for this! First, it's gorgeous. Second, we do always seem to get stuck on orange. lol It's my favorite color, but I guess there just aren't as many options out there. Love the organic nature of this one!

That looks like the yummiest grape jelly candy I've ever seen! I collect specimens as well, but not of the finer variety. I have lots of agates and jaspers. lol
“not of the finer variety” Nope sorry I don’t believe that one bit LOL. I think every item you’ve posted has got me looking twice. Your jaspers and agates too are quality I haven’t seen before or known to exist. Craaaaazy. I was shown some blue spinels recently and the only thing I remembered was lurking and seeing a post before of your crazy cobalt spinel. Can’t look at blue spinel the same anymore

saw it and nabbed it. He had another super cool colored citrine, but it sold before I could decide. But I love reading the descriptions on his items. Adds a little sentimental story to the item.

I have come to love and appreciate marquise, and wish I had this cut in my collection. In fact, it's the only one I don't have! I know the price was excellent and might not warrant certification, but have you considered it just to see if it's untreated? :geek2: It's a lovely stone.

What a sweet thing to say.

At heart, my first love was opaque gems/cabs and Native American pieces, and I didn't really fancy transparent/faceted stones. Wish it could've stayed that way... I might've had retirement funds. lol

that is lovely, such a happy colour

This is one of the prettiest purple spinels I've ever seen. Have you shared her before? She's huge!!

Thank you! Not sure if I've shared about her before. I got her from @gingercurls off LT. I love her so much that I've had analysis paralysis on how to set her, as she deserves a glorious setting. Actually shipping 2 others off today to DK to be set, but she is next!
