Faberge egg necklaces from the Danish royals’ Faberge collection.
Each egg represents a member of the family.

i saw an antique road show once where someone found one in a jar of buttons or such like -she didnt know what it was

Apparently, these eggs were given by different family members each year.
So the number of eggs would grow over a person’s lifetime. Here’s more information from a jewellery historian Trond Norén Isaksen .
