Seriously... everything about it makes my heart go pitter-patter! I'm not sure how I haven't seen it before. Is there a thread out there that has the specs on it? It is absolutely wonderful!!

Greenlake is who made MY ring!! They do lots of beautiful engraving, and all custom design work. A lot of the pieces on their website look really modern, but they actually have a huge variety. And I personally think the website doesn't really do their pieces justice. When I went into their storefront I was blown away!!

Ok... Here she is!

For those who don't know (yeah right! LOL) this is my 1.87ct J August Vintage Cushion, set in a partial split-shank halo (halo is 1mm), with 2 tiny daisies incorporated into the gallery. Each daisy has a tiny diamond in the center, and there are 3 diamonds on each "post" surrounding the daisies. I wanted an "heirloom ring" that encorporated elements from both sides of our family. The separate wedding band (not shown here) has diamonds that were given to us by my husband's grandmother (and were used in my original wedding ring that we made in 1994). The daisy is from my side of the family. It is my mom's favorite flower and she had them embroidered on her wedding dress. They are also the very first flowers my husband ever gave me when we were dating... a bouquet of white Shasta daisies.

My ring was conceptually designed by me, and then brought to life by Greenlake Jewelry Works in Seattle.
It is platinum and my finger is a size 4.25.

Hey Classy and DS... (I probably should post this in a different thread) But I know I need to get a spacer for my ring. And I want it to look like it is part of the "set" and not just a spacer. I am thinking of maybe doing a twisted band or a milgrained band, and I'm thinking of doing it in warm (unplated) white gold, thinking that maybe the slight warmth would compliment the warmth of my J diamond? One of the recommend shops on Etsy will even use your own gold, if you have it. And I have the old ring that my mom's 1/4 diamond came out of that was the center stone in my original wedding band. I thought it might be cool if I could use that gold, since I couldn't fit the diamond into the new design. Anyway, it's 14k yellow gold, but I wonder if they can add the alloy to it to make it white. I'm not sure.

But what do you guys think? What do you think would look good between my rings? I don't want it very thick, but I don't want my wedding band to scratch up the daisies. (And I'm sorry for thread-jacking. I just knew both of you would see it here. I can start a new one... But where? RT or SMTB?)

I think you will have to wait for DS to chime in; she should be back later this evening. I really don't know anything about spacers since had a ring guard for my orig. wedding set that served as my wedding band. Since then, I have worn only larger diamond rings, and I thought they looked best by themselves.

I do like the idea of using your Mother's ring to make the spacer. I also think you also have a good point about the unplated gold; I like the way it patinas/warms and tends to recede in the background. I had a simple unplated white gold setting, and it made my diamond look like it was floating on my finger!

Anyway, DS will know what to do! She is a wealth of information . . . if she doesn't know, she can link you to the thread that does!

BTW, a size 4.25! Really . . . tiny fingers!

Regarding your spacer question, I think it is a wise idea to get one. There are two different ways to go...get a platinum ring that will look more like a third ring in the set, or do a tiny rose gold band to make it be almost invisible. Even though I think your idea about using your mother's ring is sweet, I don't think unplated white gold will look good with the other platinum rings. Also, most jewelers won't refine the gold from your ring and change it into white gold.

I think you'd have to try some to see what looks good, but a thin milgrain band might work or an engraved band (which I am sure Greenlake could make). I love Victor Canera's engraved band:
