I thought it would be fun to post pictures of some of your favorite galleries of ring settings! As some of you know, I am trying to find the perfect setting for my RBC which is what gave me the idea for this thread. The gallery of the setting enhances the beauty of the ring and adds interest. Please post your favorite galleries!

Here's my rubellite and diamond ring. The gallery is not particularly elaborate, but I always enjoy looking at it on my finger.

Oh, I love that setting!

You really need to contact Victor if you have any possible interest of working with him, because he showed me a couple of antique rings that he'd like to use as inspiration for a new piece. And one had a beautiful gallery in particular. I don't want to post his inspiration pieces here, but one had a very large diamond and was a design I really loved.

But here's an antique ring I had saved from a website.

Oh my goodness! That is right up my alley! That ring is truly art.

You are correct. I need to contact Victor. I thought about narrowing down my likes/dislikes a bit more as not to waste his time. However, maybe he can expedite my search.

If you want to see some more contemporary gallery art, take a look at Robinson Designer Goldsmith in New Zealand. They have incredible pieces and Mike Robinson is a member of this forum. (You can see a quote by him below my post.)

Here's just one example...

He will, trust me. The ring he showed me was beautiful as it was, but he had ideas of how to make it even better. I don't mind sharing the idea since whatever stone I end up with would be much smaller anyway so it wouldn't look like yours.

The other ring I want is made just as it was almost 100 years ago and has intricate scroll carving on the side. It is by Van Craeynest. It is not the gallery that is special, but the rings are hand carved and chased. I think these rings work better with smaller stones, however. This is a little off your topic, but it is art work as well.

I actually wish I would have thought to add something about hand carving and chasing in the title of this thread. Those are gorgeous rings, which show an art form. The extra details like the ones you posted are not often seen in modern settings. I think that is why I am so attracted to vintage/antique settings.

It is true that a good designer can grasp what the client is envisioning, and has the ability to make it even better. The ring that you are considering is really timeless. I love it!

It is good to know about other designers, especially Pricescope members!

Zahra, I am glad you came! I had a picture of the top of your ring saved, but I didn't have gallery shots! Gorgeous!

Classy...we just wish Mike was in the US instead of NZ! But it is fun to look at his work!

I have a reasonably intricate gallery and shank on my engagement ring. I am a big fan of colour so there's a mix of fancy intense yellow, Argyle 5P pink and normal white diamonds in there, in a sort of floral-ish design. It's a Mike Robinson/RDG design:

I remember your ring! I am loving the pink diamonds in it! I am so glad you shared it here. It's neat to have various artists' designs represented here. =)

Here are some of the more professional (non-iPhone!) pictures showing the detail:

Thanks; it's a bit different so I thought I'd add it to the mix.

I am so glad you added more pictures! I love looking at different styles. It would be boring if we all had the same ring.

I think this is beautiful by McTeigue and McClelland:

Here's mine. It looks like leaves wrapping up onto the stone. It's a little fussy for me so I'm hoping to change it in the near future. The pic was taken on my phone so I hope it comes through...

Okay, that didn't come out clearly...let me try again

I actually saved this ring in my pictures because I love it so much! I just ran out of time to post last night! I don't see it as fussy at all! Maybe you don't like antique settings? But it is so perfect for your stone!

This!

Your ring is art! The person who made your ring was quite an artist; not just anyone would have this level of creativity and skill to execute it. I love the asymmetry in the design. Please don't change it!

Oooo great topic! I love detailed galleries. I have a couple that I can show. The first is my sapphire ring made by Nelson which has a very detailed gallery. The next is a diamond halo Calla ring. The gallery reminds me of a crown.

Wow! I love the detail. It just goes to show that the profiles of the ring are as important as the top view!

There are so many beautiful Pricescoper rings with pretty galleries/profiles. Please your precious pieces! :wavey:

This is one of my all-time favorites... I pinned it on my Pinterest page and it has over 1000 repins!

Speaking of Pinterest...
If you want to see my collection that I was gathering as I was designing my Daisy ring... Take a look at this. And be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom, there are definitely some drool-worthy pieces!!

http://pinterest.com/amylarz/if-it-doesn-t-sparkle-why-bother/

And if you don't have a Pinterest page... I highly recommend it. It's a great way to keep all of your inspiration photos in one place, and when you click on the photo, it takes you back to the original website where the item is posted. So I can save the pictures, AND I can remember where I found them!! You can also search Pinterest for what other people have posted... I searched "Edwardian filigree", or "cushion halo", or you could try, "Diamond ring gallery"... It's fun!

I also have collections of pictures for fashion, home decor, remodeling ideas, travel... you get the idea. :)

You have a lot of neat stuff! Following!

Love all the detailed antique-looking galleries!

Here's mine!

Yes! I knew you would come through! One doesn't design a beautiful ring like yours without saving tons of pictures for inspiration. :naughty:

I am saving this one too!

I had not read this before I posted my reply above! I knew you had a "stash" somewhere! I will spend some time on Pinterest now! I like a lot of the same designs you do.

You and DS are slowly bringing my computer skills into the 21st century. I need to clean up my desktop this evening while I am watching the d*****!
