Lesson Learned: Don't Be Afraid of M Colored Diamonds

Yeah, I have learned first hand that some lower colored stones are chameleons...that can't be an M... :Up_to_something:
It looks great on you!

Thanks everyone! I really did learn a valuable lesson. I had a J colored princess that had much more color to it than this stone. I really can't wait for the sun to come out. I want to see that blue floro in action.

What a lovely pendant, catmom!!! I would have never guessed it was an M, it looks perfectly white.

Michelle, it's beautiful! Congratulations! :appl:

So pleased that you love it, Catmom!

I used to have an M color pear in a pendant, and I traded it up. I MISS that diamond every single day. I'm always excited to see a PSer with this colour, because it can be incredibly beautiful.

Wear it in good health.

I would never have guessed that's an M! It is just beautiful! :appl:

Thank you stargurl78, Imdanny, Jennifer W and KristyDarling!

I tried for another side shot and maybe you can see some tint here but the setting is such that you really can't see much of the stone from the side. We did get about 5 minutes of sunshine here today so I took a few shots out in the sun. You can see a little bit of the blue floro in one of the pics.

Thanks guys, it is the perfect, casual size.

Luckily you went with it~!! It is so pretty on you!!

Wow, what a beauty. Fantastic work !!

Thank you mitsui4 and D2B!

It's gorgeous! definitely doesn't look like it has any color even with the surrounding stones. wear her in good health!

that is gorgeous!!! I love it Catmom!!!

:appl: wow... great selection and choice of setting.

From the pictures, it doesn't show the yellow tinge of an M

Thank you Pandabee, Skippy and odbg! I really don't see much tint in it at all.

It's PERFECT!! It is gorgeous on your neck. I am still trying to get mine to hit that sweet spot. Good thing you went for it!! Niiiiice....

I just gave my GF an M colored e-ring. I couldn't get myself to pull the trigger on it so I included her in the process. After looking all day at diamonds I took her to the place I had the M on lay-away and she unquestionably decided it was the best looking of all the others we'd looked at that day.

LOL hlmr. I did take a shot of the flourescence. I expected it to really glow since it has strong blue but what I didn't expect to see was the red from some of the side stones.

Great shot Catmom!!
It's so difficult to photograph florescent diamonds glowing- because the stone has to be in the dark!

I see a few of the halo stones exhibiting strong blue- the red is apparently a reflection of something in the environment.
Actually your photo is great at showing how FL really "glows" as opposed to "reflects' the UV light.
When teaching about diamonds, it's best to show people an inert stone along with a FL one so they can notice the difference.

You are right David. I went back and redid the shot in a different location and no red. It was a reflection.
