I love this setting. Can anyone tell if the stones on the shank are channel set? My eyes are not what they once were!

Thank you!

Yes....they look like channel set square baguettes....

Thank you Dani. I was hoping they were channel set.

Actually, they may be channel set asschers....Regardless, they look channel set to me!!!!!

I''m not so good at telling the difference between the square cuts, but I do like them!

Actually, they look like channel set carre cuts to me. Carre cuts are "simplified" versions of asscher cuts which look better in smaller sizes.

I think it is the same one Skippy

What is the difference between the carre cut and the assher? Obviously you can tell by looking that there is a difference but I can''t. Mind you my eyes are a bit useless!

hehee, thanks my color stone friend Chrono and Maisie; both sweeties!

This is the one that''s a copy of the Tiffany ring right? I think I remember seeing it before. Didn''t realize it was a stock item.

Maisie,
Here''s a picture of a carrer cut diamond, courtesy of Widget.

Do you have something to share with us?

I love that setting too, Maisie... I keep thinking, "Hmmmm, maybe I should go with that channel set Carre (or Asscher or whatever) band instead of baguette or trap sides." I just love all his work... so hard to pick a fave.

I didn''t know it was a copy. I thought Leon didn''t do copies. Not that I mind really, I like the setting for what it is, not for what it looks like

it's not an exact copy, although very close. i guess it's enough for him to not consider it a knockoff...here's more pics of acegrilbda's ring..the sideview is slightly different, no pave on the lower *donut* like the original tiffany version:

and here's a link to the orginal....

I''m pretty sure it''s very close to the Tiffany. And someone somewhere here had another version of it as well... can''t remember who designed it and who owns it though. The only thing I didn''t much care for about the Tiffany design (and I think Leon''s as well) was the surprise diamond set NESW... it just looked odd to me, but it''s just personal preference.

OOh, great close-up! I would love to see a channel set band of those IRL. I''ll bet it''s stunning.

I have a gorgeous diamond and sapphire RHR from Signed Pieces and although they called the stones "asscher cut", the corners aren't clipped and I think they are like what Chrono posted. But they are killer little stones, for sure. (The ring is gone from their website now, so some of the pictures aren't showing up, but the ones I took still are, of course.)

i love this ring too! Its very classy. I actually asked him for a quote of this one a few months ago and it was about $5K for a 1 carat center stone.

Yeah, that''s the one I was thinking of. I think I like the Leon better. I love the style a lot. I almost want it instead of the round brilliants I''ll have in my band.

You definitely pay out for a Leon ring, I think its worth it though as I won''t be upgrading my diamond again.
