Yeah, he gave me a $1200-1500 for a very basic plat split prong setting with no sides. This quote was about a month ago and I was going to have him set my future stone for me but after talking to him I realized that we dont mesh, personality-wise. I need alot more discussion and input into this type of thing. I ended up going in a different direction, but if you can let go of the process, I''m sure he''ll do a wonderful job. Love his work.

Yes he IS an artiste, for sure! I''m just way too anal to not check in alot and I know he''d be bugged with me. But if I could ever just let go of the whole process, I''d definately let him make me a ring. He''s a master. I just hope he wont go the way of a Jack Kelege in the future and end up with benches of workmen who carry out the task! Part of his charm is what I perceive to be his one-man work station...Does he work alone?

I don''t think maytal does *any* of her own work... I know she wasn''t brought up but it really surprised me. Ocean Pearlman (whom I''m working with) is an artist but not an artiste, if you know what I mean, and she does all of her own work... really impressed with her thus far.Date: 4/22/2007 3:09:33 PM

Actually Surfgirl, too late! From what I have read here on PS, he doesn''t do a lot of work himself and has benchpeople. They do train for a loooong time for him though, I read somewhere 5 years?
