Hi Harriet

If you e-mail leon he will get back to you very quickly. I asked for a quote on the classic that was not as dainty as this one, and I belive it was around $1800-but that was a while ago.

Thanks, Kasey. How long ago was it?

I think it was in Sep.of 2006. I am currently having a three stone made and that quote was also 1800. So I am guessing the solitare would be in that ballpark.

Not bad. Hmm.

I asked a few months ago for my .81 and it was somewhere around $1200 I think. But I think Boston_Jeff said his was closer to $2000 and he had a much bigger stone. My quote was also if I bought a stone from him.

Don''t quote me on that however, not positive.

That is a very nice setting. I would go for it in a heart beat. I think anything under $1,800 is a reasonable price.

Neatfreak,
I won''t.

Jewels,
You egging me on?

I think your stone would look great in that setting-and you would not have to worry about shipping and insuring your stone (I remember reading that you live in NY)

I do and will be able to meet Leon in person!

Ooooh, how cool. I''d love it if you shared your experiences meeting with him. Leon''s work is amazing and I hear his quotes are reasonable for the high quality work he''s doing.

I was able to meet him, and he is very nice! I was sooo nervous though-it was like meeting a celebrity!!!

Let us know what you decide.

Will do!

I got a quote in december for my 7x7 asscher, and it was (if memory serves) for $1400 (in platinum, ovbi.)

Thanks -- that''s reasonable.

That is about what I am expecting my final invoice to be for my (or my GF''s, rather) 2.26ct cushion.

Great!

That looks great, Harriet. And it''s nice that you''re able to decide on what you want. I wish I were more decisive [sigh].

I wonder how thin the shank is? Do you know?

And you''ll be able to meet the Master in person! How wonderful

I adore that setting Harriet. It''s so elegant and... spare. I get so torn though between restraint and wanting sparkles (pave) everywhere. I''m trying to reset my 2.1ct. Have a setting from Mark Morrell thats just like the Lucida, but it''s too thick...sigh.

If I had a 3ct like yours, I would looove that setting from Leon. You have to report all details of your meeting with him!

Angeline,
That''s a setting for a cushion. Will it look the same on an rb?

Harriet, have you seen these with the 5ct?

5ct round classic
5ct round classic side profile

These and the cushion all have the same style name: Style name*: Ring Solitaire “Classic”

I imagine that there are slight differences in shank width and maybe shape? The cushion shank looks more rounded. The 5ct probably needed a wider shank.

I think yours would look the same - just round! and fabulous of course. Oh and have you seen this link? It''s a round from Leon in that style..

Leon could not/would not tell me the exact width of the ring in the catalogue, because he insists that it is a stone-specific consideration.

He did make it clear that it was under 2mm, however, and also assured me there will be no durability issues.

Hope that helps.
