It''s ready!!
It''s ready!!
I''m the proud owner of my very own Leon Mege creation!
Leon was an absolute delight to work with. I was a little anxious about working with him long-distance as a few P''scopers had posted about their difficult personal experiences with him, but I had no problems whatsoever. We talked several times on the phone; he drew up an estimate and work order which he emailed to me; I shipped my stone and 50% desposit; there were several emails back and forth; and then tonight, pictures!! Leon was always very courteous and responded promptly to all my emails and phone calls. I did my best not to micromanage (I personally don''t like being micromanaged at work...) and trusted him with the details. These photos are the first I have seen of my ring - there were no wax models, progress photos, etc.
He delivered on time (quoted 4-6 weeks, finished in just over 5 weeks) and surprisingly, a few hundered dollars under budget. All I have to do is to send a check for the remaining balance. It should be in my hot little hands shortly.
Ok, the details:
3.08 ct OMC / antique cushion M, SI1 with Strong Fluorscence (from singlestone) cut circa 1840.
Very delicate rounded shank, approx 1.6mm
Single row of pave (he calls it the "Harry Winston Style") - 26 single cut stones for a total of 0.28 ct.
The head is a "Buttercup" basket modeled from a pair of earrings on his website.
More pics to come when it arrives!
