Huff Puff Huff Puff!!!! I''m hyperventalating! I can''t stand secrets! Especially dirty ones like theeeeeeeese! You shouldn''t do this when I''ve had so much coffee!!!!! I''m gonna have a heart attack! Will you at least tell us how long we have to wait to find out what kind of something you have up your sleeve?????

FWTW, I loooove the tourmaline, too. Was that a hint??????????????????

TOURMALINE, then Aquamarine. LOVE. THE. DARK. GREEN.

I reset my tanzanite like that, and mine is a deep gorgeous color like that one too. YUM.

Linda and Ellen, your are toooo funny. Can you both come for tea now?

Yeah but what I guess I am saying is there is something way off on the website versus the store. I saw a less than 2 carat sapphire legacy on sale for $25K in February. Now, according to the website you can get one for between $10K and $14K, which is less than they are pricing semiprecious stones like tanzanite in the same setting, albeit larger carat weight. There is no way a 2.84 carat tanzanite would cost $2K more than a 1.48 carat sapphire. The tanzanite should be less than the sapphire, b/c even though it weighs a little more, it''s a semiprecious stone, and a sapphire is more expensive per carat. Plus, when I was in the store, I will reiterate that the pink sapphire and the blue sapphires were between 1.5 and 2 carats and cost between $20 and $25. I think the website pricing on the sapphires could be wrong. Or perhaps I should say it this way: I am sure it isn''t wrong, but something seems out of whack.

This sounds right to me. I was talking about this thread with a friend of mine at lunch today, LOL, and both of us remember those rings. We saw all the different colors and none of them were less than $11,000.00. I think it was the aquamarine in the store that was $11K, but it wasn''t very big at all.--I mean it looked like a pinky ring. I think the prices on the website are a bit misleading in that you might think you are getting a big center stone, (1.35 carat weight sounds pretty big in the abstract), but because of the way the legacy is cut, you will be getting a deep stone with a smaller table. At least that is my best guess. :-)

They are all lovely but I like the "blues" versions best.

Ellen, now I''m going to have to keep checking PS everyday just to see what you''ve got up your sleeve. At least I''ll have a good reason to do something I do all the time anyway.

Lordy these are stunning with the colored centers. Oh my!

It''s like candy...I want a pink one, a green one, and a blue one please!!

Seriously, when we were in the store to get my wedding band. I tried on the pink sapphire...again...and kept asking FI, "One day right? Like an anniversary or something??" He agreed. So maybe in 25 years I''ll get it hahaha.

Ellen,

ARE YOU GETTING A TOURMALINE???? hummmmmmmmmmmmmm?? Yes, you and I can visit Caroline and play in her jewelry box

Wow, I don''t know where you girls live, but when I priced some colored stone Legacy rings back in January the aqua one was under $7000. They said a similar blue sapphire would be about $9500. I am sorry but I don''t remember the size of the stones.

DS: I looked on the website. They have 3 different sizes for each stone. I think that is where they are getting the price differences.

Linda

Ellen, with tea you get eggroll...ha ha, I mean bling box time!

That sounds about what my experience with the *smaller* colored legacies was too.

Ditto to this statement - i don''t have a tiffany store near me, but a while back i tried on the legacy in Aqua and pink sapphire at the Bellagio in Las Vegas. The pricing was very similar to that mentioned above.. around 7K and 9.5K ish. In the ones i tried on, the center stones were very small. i don''t remember the carat weight, but i remember thinking i would like a bigger one....

I think this is what it is. The 1.00 carat stones are going to look pretty darn small b/c the weight of the stone goes into the depth on that cut. Then again, the blue sapphire I said was under 2.00 carats, I think it was over 1.5 (my friend thinks it was), maybe (?) and it didn''t look small. It wasn''t huge, but it wasn''t like a pinky ring either. But then it cost over $20K so I am still confused. I will check the next time I am in Tiffany to see what the latest news is. :-)

I like the tanzanite best. There''s nothing "semiprecious" about it as far as I''m concerned!

It''s amazing how much prettier the Legacy setting looks with the colored center stones versus the diamond. I ALMOST decided to get a colored center Legacy for my e-ring, but decided in the end that a ring that intricate would be better (for me, anyway) as a RHR. Plus, it wouldn''t match all of my outfits. I''d need one in every color

As a very unbiased person, (the fact that I own a tanzanite legacy would have no bearing on what I am about to write), I have to say that I agree! LOL :-)

I LOVE the colored legacy rings....and really want the aquamarine, but have no idea when/where I would wear it (they appear large on my finger)...

p.s. Isabelle- that isn't very nice about the 2K e-rings...They don't all need a magnifying glass to see
7.gif
(I am sure your comment was in good faith, but some PSrs have these size rings)...

UCLABelle, I apologize. I meant no disrespect. I meant to imply that Tiffany advertises their erings starting at a very reasonable price, but the size diamond you get at that price *at Tiffany* is much smaller than what you would get if you spent that same amount of money at GOG or WF. And many here would say you might not get as nice a diamond either in that price range. Again, I apologize for offending you. I certainly wasn''t insulting inexpensive erings. For heaven''s sake, my ering wasn''t that expensive either.

35.gif

Isabelle-No worries :) I merely put myself in the shoes of someone who may have those 2K rings from Tiffany :) I agree, there advertisement is off....

I tried on some of those colored stone Legacy rings at Tiffany and I was just in love. I like halo rings with gemstone centers better than halos with diamonds, personally, because I love the contrast. I was blown away by the prices though. I don''t remember the exact specs but one that I tried on with blue sapphire was over $20K. Another with a less expensive gemstone was like $6K or more. DH and I both loved the blue green tourmaline that they had. The Legacy is just not in my budget, unfortunately. I adore the style, but if I can ever get one I''ll have to replicate the look with another brand of setting. My current favorite is the Vatche Grace. The nice thing with a substantial halo like the Legacy is that you really don''t need that big a center stone to have a good presence on the hand.

Ellen, can''t wait to see what you''ve got in the works!

Wow, that spess!!!!

Although, my first love is that aqua!

I know the secret, I know the secret.

I tried on the a legacy with a 1ct aqua about 4-6 mo ago, it was 6k. The sales person told me that the green tourmaline was the lowest priced one at a little over 5k. He stated that the smallest you could get for a colored stone was 1ct. But that was more than enough finger coverage! I won''t be getting one of those babies, but it did inspire me to start making a sapphire RHR.
