large culet on cushion cut?

I''m so confused! i''m looking at a cushion H color VS1 clarity, and i noticed that the culet is large-is that a bad thing? it seems like it is from all i''ve been reading. i''m so very confused

No not bad at all. It just depends on what you like. An older style cushion will have a larger culet. Take a look at it and see if you like the stone. Do you think you mixed up culet and girdle in your reading?

Culet -- that "hole" you see looking from the top of the ring. The clear spot in the center that lets you look through the whole stone.

Girdle -- the edge of the stone (where the pavillion stops) and having a big one/thick one would be bad cause it would take away from the visual size of the stone.

thank you soooooooo much for the replies! i''m going to go take another look at it today, i did love it the first time i saw it, but for some reason yesterday i was a little hesitant. i''ll let you all know how it goes
