Lab price fluctuations?

I've just started looking a buying a lab diamond for a pendant and got great advice here. I've ordered at a couple of diamonds and the pricing and grading are confusing. I purchased a diamond from Ritani and may want to keep it. I'm confused that the stone shows as available to purchase at Adiamor. When I ordered the diamond from Ritani, the price was roughly $2600. The same diamond via Adiamor was $4500 when I ordered the stone from Ritani. Today Adiamor still shows the stone for sale but now at $7k. What is going on?

Also any opinions on the diamond would be appreciated.

The diamond is beautiful. How do you feel about it now that you've seen it in person?

The supplier has likely not updated the stone's status, but obviously if someone were to try to buy it from Adiamor, Adiamor would find out that the stone isn't available. As for the pricing, Ritani does tend to be one of the more affordable vendors. Adiamor may be responding to recent supply/demand, though I agree that that's quite a drastic increase.

In my untrained eye it compares well enough against a more expensive 8x stone from Adiamor. After seeing them, I think I could be happy with a G color stone as they both look so colorless.

Seeing a stone selling for approx $2500 at one vendor, then $4500 at another and then seeing that stone's price increase to $7k defies reason. It seems a little sketchy when lab prices should be coming down(?).

I bought my stone from Ritani.

It was also on Adiamor at over 3x the price.

Don't know what Ritani is doing with prices, but I was a BIG fan. Haha my LMD had local jewelers stunned for the price.

In fact... When they asked me how much I spent, I was scared to say the truth, so I lied and say 2x the price. Even after that, they said I got a deal.

I'm glad people here pointed me to Ritani when I first started asking questions. I'm just mystified that Adiamor would change the price to $7k. That's crazy isn't it?

Yup, but that's marketing. If the website looks expensive, they can charge more for the perception.

Like buying Cheerios for a luxury supermarket, or buying the same box at Walmart or a discount grocery store for 1/2 the price.

I'm not sure about now, but when I was looking for my lab Asscher a few years ago, Ritani had it priced much higher than a couple of Rare Carat vendors. I went with the vendor that was selling it for the cheapest price naturally. If you have the time you can usually locate the lab report number on Google to see who has it listed.

I guess if they think the demand is out there, and clearly it is, they'll have a go at hiking the price.

Sadly I don't actually think the price of lab stones will come down any time soon. People who may have never been able to afford a mined diamond are now in the market for lab diamonds, but they'll pay more for them now than they might have if they were in the market two years ago, if that makes sense? And more people will join the hunt for lab stones so it makes sense to hike the price.

There will of course be a flood of inferior lab stones at low prices :(
