Hi Everyone!

Just wondering if you have any recommendations (ideally in the LA area), as to a really good jeweler who is skilled with creating erings with tapered baguettes. My goal is to create a HW or Graff replica of an asscher w/ tapered baguettes and double prongs. Since I have relatively small fingers (size 3.5), I want to make sure I can find someone who can make a top-notch quality, yet delicate ring that doesn't show too much platinum, and with baguettes that have just the right size and angle. I feel like a lot of the settings I see are bulkier and have baguettes that run too long/are almost swallowed by the platinum, hence my concern.

These are the specs of the center stone we're looking at - I've seen it in person and it's got incredible sparkle, but if there's any other advice you can provide or points to consider, I would really appreciate it since my bf and I are extremely new to this!

Thank you all very much, I really appreciate the help in advance! I've basically learned everything I know about diamonds from you guys on this site, so I owe you a lot already :)

I would look up Victor Canera.

Thank you Gypsy!

Ditto to Gyspy's recommendation for Victor Canera--I have worked w/ him on numerous projects, all have turned out beautifully!

I think I replied to another post of yours ... but I can vouch for Victor's work. When I commissioned Victor, and I had never seen his work in person. When my ring arrived, it was far, far more delicate that I could have ever imagined. No excessive plat, and my double prongs are oh so tiny - that with my (aging) eyesight, I can hardly see them! To be honest, nothing could have prepared me for what I saw - and pictures I've seen here, and elsewhere online, do not do justice!

He's local to you - so I'd track him down, have a chat on the phone, and if he's agreeable, maybe you can go visit him. I'm not sure if he does this, but no harm in asking, right?! It's such a large investment, why not research all avenues!

Leon's work looks amazing too! There are design differences between them, but I think they're both equally skilled/talented.

Victor is very approachable by email, phone, etc... You can make an appointment to discuss your project in person with him--I would love to make a trip to LA just for that!

I'm in the same boat as you and I can definitely recommend Victor based on my experiences with him so far.

I also have 3.5 sized fingers and I'm getting my very first 3 stone ring custom made by him due to his reputation here on the forums.

I've only just begun the design process with Victor and so far he has been very prompt, friendly and helpful with practical suggestions.

My stone is a radiant and we are weighing up side stone options at the moment - one of them being the tapered baguettes!
