Not sure if this should be here or in SMTR, but does anyone have an e-ring from Knox Jewelers? Their prices seem reasonable and the rings look nice on the website, but just wondering if anyone has an opinion or even better, any pics!

Thanks

Hello...type knox into the search feature that is above and on the right hand side and you will find a ton of info on knox...:)

I bought my shank from them but had my crown work done elsewhere. You can look down just a few post and see mine. However, my shank cost 250 bucks but the originally when looking at the shank and crown it was 400, and I will tell you, they did not treat me very kindly. I asked for the height of the diamond off the hand. They told me they don't know, I asked them to find out and they told me that I could look at the picture on the website, they said the diamond in the picture is about 4mm deep and just calculate from there, but that they wouldn't do anything else to help me find out the actual height off the hand.

I asked them the width of the band, they said..."something like 2-2.5 mm we aren't sure." they refused to find out for me.

Then I asked them if I could get it insured and set by them, they said they would set it uninsured for 75bucks and insured for 150 dollars.

Then I asked them if they could raise the prongs up about 1mm higher than it was seeing in the picture (if I had them set it), so that the bottom of the diamond would be approx. flush with the top of the taper of my ring. They told me "that sounds like a custom job to me. You are expecting WAY TOO much out of a 200 dollar ring, no we won't do that." (note that the original ring in WG is 200, but in Palladium and with them setting it insured it was going to cost me $550, which the salesman I spoke with had to know full well as it was the same guy I had worked with all along.) So, while I am pleased with the shank overall and it seems of nice quality and they were able to get it to me in time, the service was very lacking in the lower price range merchandise, to say the least. So I feel that it is merited to comment on that and hopefully they will fix it, but to also warn you if your ring is not going to be exceptionally priced that you can not expect too much in the way of service, as I was VERY displeased in that particular area.

I think it seems hit or miss with them lately. I went to their store and everything was really nice and so were they. Very helpful and friendly. But recently I had an interaction via email with them asking about setting my sapphire and they told me it couldn''t be done, and were not super friendly about it.

Soooo...I don''t really know. Seems that past experiences have been great with most people, but lately their service has fallen by the wayside. But the pieces I saw in their store were indeed nicely made for the price.

I have several knox rings and each one is beautiful. I''m not sure why there is so much controvery lately with knox because I''ve only had positive experiences with them. Brian has always treated my projects with care and respect and has created very beautiful rings for me.

Here is my custom antique style garnet ring: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-antique-garnet-ring-is-done-pics-inside.48251/

Here is my fiance''s wedding band: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/fis-18k-palladium-wedding-band-from-knoxjewelers-biz.58340/

I''ve been working with Knox on creating a custom setting (it''s done! can''t wait to get it!), and the experience has been nothing short of perfect. Brian has been attentive, considerate and helpful. And, yes, the prices are very reasonable.

The proof will be in the pudding--er, setting--but from what I can see in the photos, they''ve done a wonderful job.

Hope that helps!
