Here''s a question for those of you that have seen a Jubilee cut diamond in person:

How thick is the girdle on the four sides that are cut straight? What does it look like loose and/or set?

Thanks

The faceted girdles on the long side are thick, there's no denying that. But for my case, I think it's a good thing.

My GF is a bit of a klutz. If you look at pictures of round diamonds laying flat on a table, in a 4-prong setting, the diamond rests on the table. If you look at a similar picture of a Jubilee (one on GOG's site already), the ring rests on the prongs.

I can't say how hard or often you'd have to hit your ring on a desk to chip it, but I think the Jubilee is less likely than an RB or Princess with a more consistent exposed girdle throughout.

Remember, you're usually viewing it from the top anyway.

from across the room the very thick, exposed girdle gives off some amazing sparkles that makes the Jube look even bigger.

Really? I guess that would be the case, it would act as an additional facet from the SIDE! How often do you get that in a diamond, eh?

Here is the effect I was refering to ...

Can you post a picture of the entire ring?

Sorry, I forgot that you had already posted that you couldn't show the ring.

I was mainly interested in how the prongs looked.
