Hi everyone
I've been waiting for this piece for a while. I bought the aquamarine from SB on preloved, as a 40th present to myself as aquamarine is my birth stone. SB kindly shipped it to DanielM for me. It took a while to decide on a setting and in the end Dan and Caren worked with a couple of inspiration photos to come up with a design suggestion. We did it using CAD so that I could make minor changes if I needed. I did do this, thanks in part to some helpful suggestions made in the coloured stone forum.
I added in rosé gold prongs even though we used silver as I wanted to keep costs down.
I have been really impressed with Dan's workmanship. It is perfect. The halo diamonds are clean and white.
I'm a bit vague on stats I'm afraid so will do my best.
Unheated aquamarine, cushion cut by Jeff White - 4.6ct (I think) - measures 9.6mm x 9.6mm
The halo is .15 made up on .005's and .01's
Set in silver (I'm not sure if its argentinium or sterling as I left that to Dan)
Rosé gold prongs for a little bit of interest.
These pics were taken on my iPhone and also inside, so I'll have to arrange some better ones tomorrow if I can.
Thanks for looking - I'm really chuffed with how this turned out. It was my 10th wedding anniversary this past weekend so it is partly to celebrate that also, though not entirely considering I did it all myself!
My only disappointment with this is that I won't be able to wear it everyday in fear that I would damage the stone!
