Hello Pricescopers,

Been browsing for a while, but this is my first post =) I took my girlfriend to look at rings the other day and she really liked the Jeff Cooper Tory style: http://www.jeffcooperdesigns.com/collections/tandem/tory

It's a double row pave cathedral with a slight reverse taper. It also has a row of pave diamonds on the "bridge" of the cathedral.

Has anyone seen a similar ring? While Solomon Brothers stock Jeff Cooper, it doesn't seem like many of the other online vendors carry this line. Just looking for more options to buy my center stone (considering something in the 2ct, H color, ideal cut, VVS1 range).

I suppose I could always buy the stone from another vendor and have it sent to Solomon for setting in the ring -- is this common?

Appreciate the input!

You'd have to check with soloman on their policies re outside stones.

I took a quick look and couldnt find much, without going over the cost of what the JC is.

http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/solitaire/twin-band-diamond-engagement-ring-3629.htm Im sure you could ask wf if and what the cost would be to add the bridge diamonds.
http://www.whiteflash.com/engagement-rings/diamond-settings/euphoria-diamond-engagement-ring-by-vatche-1655.htm way overbudget, no taper.

Theres also a few that have the double row pave, but are a bit different.

Hi telephone89,

Thanks for checking! The first WF ring you list is nice, but it seems they only sell it in 14k white gold. She really wants platinum.

And I agree the second Vatche 1536 is very close! But in platinum it is almost $900 more than the Jeff Cooper ($4k vs $3.1k).

Thanks for the tip regarding sending Solomon a diamond for setting. I would have thought that happened all the time, but will definitely check in with them.

Anyways, for the stone, most folks on here would rec dropping the clarity, as even with an eye clean SI1 you will not be able to tell the difference. No idea what your budget is, but here are some from WF in a variety of price ranges.

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3408401.htm 1.864 ct H SI1 $17,802
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3408397.htm 1.792 ct G VS2 $21,431
http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3481321.htm 2.128 ct H VS2 $27,604

You can always send WF a quick email to see what the price in plat would be, especially if you want to buy a diamond from them. They might be able to work with you to get your business.

Hello,
Since 1910 carries Jeff Cooper rings. Check out their website.
Where are you located?
Because HL Gross located in Long Island NY carries JC settings.
What shape center diamond are you looking to buy?

Just call Whiteflash and tell them you want it in Platinum and with diamonds on the bridge, and send them the picture of the Jeff Cooper one you want. Whiteflash's work is gorgeous, and I am pretty certain they will sell/create/customize the setting for you with your stone. They are super nice, and their prong work is gorgeous!! If you like the claw prongs, they can make them beautiful and delicate vs. the chunky ones on the Jeff Cooper. And if you want single vs. double prongs, you can specify that too. They are super easy and nice to deal with.

Thanks for the tips Madison2 and LLJsmom!

I haven't looked into custom rings, but my guess is that given the labor involved the price difference would be negligible from the Jeff Cooper. I'm leaning towards just sticking with a ring I know she likes and finding someone who can source it.

I had heard of GOG, but not 1910. Will have to check them out. I'm in California, so actually prefer buying online/out of state to save some sales tax.

Finally completely agree I can drop down a notch or two on the clarity. But for her, it's a cultural thing vs an eye clean issue. She'd rather pop down a color grade to H/I than down a clarity grade.

Hi mavsman26,
I also recommend ID Jewelry for Jeff Cooper rings, they carry the settings and also you can get Yekutiel to look for a diamond for you as well in the color and clarity that your girl would like. I completely understand the thing about wanting a VS clarity diamond as both my diamonds that I purchased from Yeutiel are VS Clarity. Its a mind thing for me :-)
Give Yekutiel a call and tell him what you are looking for. His prices are really competitive and I am sure he can find you what you are looking for.
Good Luck!
