Jade quality in this platinum ring

I really like the ring design but not so sure about the quality of the jade itself, a bit cloudy, uneven, dull in color, no glow and there seems to be a line running down one side of it in the first picture—Is that a crack? Scratch? It doesn’t seem to show up from the reverse side.

Thoughts about the jade?

And would it be easy to replace the jade in this setting? Or difficult to find a cabochon same size/thickness?

I think you answered your own question, and I agree. Personally, I wouldn't pay $3k just for the mounting with the intention of replacing the stone. I think your perfect jade stone or piece is out there.
