They are both beautiful settings, personally I like the first one best.

Out of those two, I''d choose the scalloped basket over the French cut. (That sentence sounds like I''m talking about underwear.)

The basket in #2 looks cleaner, less sharp underneath, and the stones on the band appear closer together. The only other thing I''d prefer was if there was no gap between the head and shoulders of the ring and if there were cleaning holes underneath each stone in the band.

Of course, I might be completely biased since #2 looks more like my own!

The French cut looks more durable though.

I''m no expert, but I like #2 better.
But, that''s just me...

I like them both but I think I''d pick # 1 because the band is a bit thicker.

Both are lovely, I am picky about the head so like #2. If #1 could have the head of #2 then #1. Hope that makes sense.

I actually have setting #1, and I am very happy with it! Number two is beautiful, too, but I obviously prefer #1! Here is mine... There are more pictures if you scroll down.

Makes sense to me!

I agree with Kaleigh!

I''ve seen #1 in person and it really is lovely and delicate. I wasn''t crazy about the head online, but the real one was more fluid.

I looked at the JA settings and liked #2 the best. However, after going and looking at indypitty''s ring I dont think you could go
wrong there. Price is better too. So...I know, I''m basically no help at all.

I like #2 slightly better than #1... But I would be thrilled with either!

I can''t see the difference between them, but #1 struck my eye more!

I like number 2! =)

I completely agree with Kaleigh about the head of #1. If you could change it to look like #2 then it would be perfection!

the head of #2 is beautiful and moe "fluid" with the ring...i''d go for #2....the head of #1 looks less connected to the ring somehow.

I already asked JA if they can do that.. but they cant

I''m leaning towards #1 because of affordability for me at the moment and because I dont like the gap at the head of #2. They are both really nice though.

Just noticed that indypitty's ring is 2.3mm while this new French Cut Pave Diamond Engagement Ring at JA is 2.1mm

Should I be concerned that it may be too fragile? I only have a limited budget so I am going with a 0.88 ct RB stone. Hope the thinner band will make the diamond appear larger.

w3ss,

I also just noticed that my ring is slightly different. Mine also has 22 pave diamonds, as opposed to 16 on the one you posted. And yes, mine is 2.3 mm, not 2.1. I think you''re save with 2.1 mm, durability-wise. I think less than 2 mm is when there''s reason to be concerned, as far as I remember. Hopefully someone with more knowledge on this subject will chime in!
