Have you considered the possibility it's someone who doesn't speak up who's doing the numerous complaints and reporting? You don't have to post on a thread to report a concern; just pointing that out.

The same reason why people step in and call the cops to help others on the street if there's domestic abuse going on.

If you see things that go past passionate and are down right hateful, like wishing those with the opposite opinion to you would get covid and die, it will probably be reported.

I'm not saying you said that, I'm just giving you an example. Others want a forum that while is open for debate and education, doesn't tolerate blatant disrespect and hate.

They're obviously interested enough to read the thread but want to remain sneaky behind the scenes and report without posting?

I find it interesting that so many people are still posting about how we can bring political talk back to PS, just not in Hangouts. This degree of interest in politics is just not seen in many countries.

On the other hand these are not life and death threads. This is akin to being in a building where different discussions, meetings, classes, idea exchange, small talk and political discussions are taking place and one must choice which door to open, I don't have to open the door of a knitting topic because I don't knit, I don't have to open a door to Pearls or topaz because I am not interested, I don't have to open the door to any subject that does not interest me. This is not life and death situations, I'd flag a post where the topic was "I'm going to poison Halloween Candy" or if a person does not like a title management can change it or ask the original poster to tone it down but not one other PSer has to open that door.

People are passionate, people can regret and want to change a subject line, it's simple.

That is interesting you say that! very much so. When I was in England all I heard was Brexit etc.. Now I admit freely I've only visited other countries for vacations etc, not to live there. YMMV.
