Help me choose my wedding band!

I've decided that I want a diamond wedding band to complement my WF e-ring. I initially wanted a plain platinum band but decided I'd love a little more sparkle. The catch is that I want a contoured band that curves around my low-set basket, since I don't like a gap. I'd like to see what you all think of these options with my ring...

(pics to follow)

1) Curved channel-set princess cut band
2) Daniel K notched full eternity band (on sale at Pearlman's for a great price; 1/4 size too small and may be too thin, but I'm having them call it in anyway)
3) Round shared-prong band with graduated stones

#1 was my initial choice, but I'm moving away from channel-set a bit. I like the square notched look of #2 because it fits with the very square motif of my ring. I tried on #3 at a mall store and it looked really nice (I'd probably have WF replicate this one rather than buy it from the mall store).

So what do you all think? Any other suggestions?

Didn''t work last post, so let''s try it again!

I also like the WF scattered diamond band in the smallest size (3mm), but I''m not sure if I could get it made with a curve.

Personally, I like #1 or the WF scattered diamond band.

I''m with WestJen, I like the first a lot! :) Beautiful engagement ring!

I like the first or the WF idea as well.

I like the first one as well, but that might change if I got to see them all sitting next to it!

I like the first one too :)

I vote # 2!

agree

I love the first one!!!!

Thanks for all your input! Just to clarify about the first...it would be only the band, not a reset into the Vatche setting. I''m surprised to see how much everyone likes that one, since it''s what I''m actually leaning away from. Interesting!

The only one I''ve actually seen on my hand is the 3rd (mall store), which I have to say looked incredible. I agree that it would be ideal to see them all together, especially because they''re such different styles. I wish I could just order them all and compare them side by side, but I don''t have the cash for that!

I''ve been in touch with Julian at Pearlman''s, and he called in the Daniel K band for me. Here are some additional pics. It looks very nice to me; my only concern is that the dimensions might not be right for my ring.

i vote for the matching vatche band, me likey!!

I vote #1!

Hmm...now it looks like the Pearlman''s/Daniel K band was listed incorrectly; it''s actually half a size too small. I guess that one is out.

Oh I am going to guess they would accomodate you.

WF does beautiful custom work :) I love the Vatche matching band, though :)

Yup, they did great work for my custom ring too! The Vatche band is pretty, but I think it might be a little too wide for my tastes, and it''s designed to match the ring pictured (Vatche X-prong) rather than my ring. A custom design would fit my ring perfectly but at a price. This is going to be a tough choice!

def #1 - love matching sets!

I do too, except that my ring is not the Vatche X-prong pictured; it is a custom designed WF ring linked to in my first post. I think a lot of people are under the impression that my ring is the one pictured, but it's not! Does that change anyone's mind?

Here is my actual e-ring...

Hi,

I''m having a very similar problem. I''ve got a custom setting from WF with a similar low set square basket for my CCSQ and I can''t work out what wedding band to get cause I too want it to be flush fitting.

I really wanted the wedding band to be wearable on its own so thats the notched and curved ones out the window.

Sorry to muscle in on your thread!

Whilst hunting for solutions for myself I found this custom band by WF, food for thought maybe?

That''s a good idea too. I''ve been in touch with WF and will see what they can come up with!

I''m still kinda surprised at how everyone liked the Vatche band, since channel-set doesn''t really seem to be in vogue around here, and it''s designed to match a different ring. I guess I sort of threw it in as an option because it was the first diamond band I really considered, but for now I''m looking into the curved round shared prong band or the WF scattered band. It might be cool to see a scattered diamond band with princesses set on point, but that would require a band that would be much wider than what I''m interested in.

I must admit I am a fan of the scattered diamond band.

OK, I''ve been in touch with WF and am getting a quote for one similar to the shared prong and a custom version of the scattered band to include a notch for my setting to slide into. I think the scattered diamond band will turn out to be less expensive than the shared prong, and even though they''re very different styles, I like them both about equally. So it may just come down to price.

Here''s the question: to notch or not to notch? I always wanted a band that would sit flush, and this could only happen with a notch or curve. But there are several issues I can see with this:

1) My rings spin around my fingers a lot, because I have big knuckles, so they have to be sized large enough to slip on, but then they''re too big once they''re on. What this means is that the rings may not stay together the way they''re supposed to, and inevitably the e-ring will slip out of the notch.

2) I couldn''t wear the band on its own or switch it to a RHR if I ever decide to get a new band, unless I just turn the notch over to the underside of my finger, but I''m sure it would spin back around because of what I mentioned in #1.

3) I''d have to send my ring back to WF to get the band custom-fit to it, and I can''t bear to part with it (let alone pay the shipping and insurance)!

4) The custom notched band would probably be more expensive than the standard band.

So I''m thinking of just getting the scattered diamond band as is and just living with the gap. That would certainly be the easiest and least expensive way to go. Any thoughts?

I personally don''t mind gaps, I''m not a huge matchey or notchey (

) person..I guess its really up to what you like on your hand and for your style (sorry I know thats probably not what you wanna hear!)
Have you managed to try on a notched/ gap band yet?

Well, I've tried on bands with a gap (i.e. any straight band), and I haven't liked most of them. But they have also been sorta plain, whereas I really like the scattered diamond band. There's a Tiffany's in my area, and I'm thinking of trying on the Etoile if I get a free hour or two...

(and why does "notchey" sound like "naughty" to me?

I''m not sure if this will help heres the scattered band sitting flush and not flush.
