We had to give them one, or where would the excitement be?

Look out for Game 4!
27.gif

This means they will WIN AT HOME, instead of winning in PA, like the did last year!
9.gif
GO WINGS!!!
36.gif

First of all, it was so obvious who the NHL wants to win this... I mean 20 seconds with too many guys on the ice and it goes unnoticed? This is the Stanley Cup FINALS.... what is up with that TERRIBLE officiating?

The Wings got screw*d. Bottom Line.

But it will be so sweet to win the cup on home ice....

Uhhh... yeah.

That was BS.

I''m used to the unfair officiating. No one ever likes the Wings or wants them to win. It''s ALWAYS like that.

They''ll take it anyway!

The wings got screwed? umm, ok. Seriously, that is a result of stupid officials. Even if the league did wants the Penguins to win, do you HONESTLY think that their strategy would be allowing them to have too many men on the ice?

I agree the officiating has not been stellar- for example, in game 2 when the game-winning goal was scored following a slash and broken stick. Ridiculous. They have missed a LOT of calls against the Wings
20.gif
20.gif

Well, if we are going to whine about the officiating, then what about Zetterberg's hand on the puck (which was between the shoulder blades of Osgood, in the crease) in game one???
38.gif
That should have been an automatic penalty shot. Crosby saw it, but the officials somehow 'missed' it. I guess they're biased in favour of the Wings?!
41.gif

Just wanted to pop in and comment on officiating...
I play ice hockey and I have seen first hand how poor officiating can make or break a close game (or even make a team loose a game they should have won by multiple goals).
I have yet to see a single game where all calls (or lack of calls) was right on the money.
This applies to both rec hockey and the NHL.. that is the unfortunate part of a game that is dependent on officiating.... very frustrating as a player and a fan.

For the final series I have seen a few obvious calls missed as well as some pretty marginal calls made... we can hope it will get better, but probably not

I don''t really believe that the NHL organization has pegged a winner and is using officiating to determine the outcome... or maybe I am just naive

37.gif

Even if they did, do you think they would tell the Penguins to send out an extra player for 20 seconds and have the refs ignore?
3.gif

If you want to see some bad officiating, be an American team in Canada! It was so much nicer when my brothers played on Canadian teams and were on the other side of the bias

Or be a Canadian women's hockey team playing for the gold medal in Salt Lake City against the US, with an over the top biased American ref!

hehe, you are right! Isn''t it funny how the refs always seem to biased against your team??

Who is Stanley and why are people fighting over his cup?

LOL! no, that wouldn''t be the best way to accomplish it!

I agree about the bias thing... you always feel like it is your team that is under the bus... but I will admit on some occasions I have disagreed with a call that the ref made against the other team (I just don''t speak up in those situations!!!)

I think as long as there are human refs that there will always be inconsistent officiating and biases shown... just human nature I think (and it has become part of the game) just means you have to work harder to win!

Thanks for the extra yelling icekid! How was the officiating last night? With a score like that, it makes me wonder.....
31.gif
11.gif

Apparently, I can''t go out and leave those Pens alone anymore, so I had better stay home and cheer for game 6! LOL
2.gif
3.gif

So, will this be the final game????

I can tell you, I will NOT be watching on NBC (I've been watching Canadian TV anyway!)...NBC has now nixed airing the game at the Joe Louis Arena (The Wings arena) on "Joe Vision" (huge screens) for fans to gather and view the game...what is WRONG with the idiots at NBC?!?!? Clueless.

Anyway...GO WINGS!
36.gif
And thank goodness for Hockey Night in Canada
20.gif

Yes, thank goodness for the CBC in high definition!!
36.gif

GO PENS GO!!

Anyone having game time munchies?

I have been craving nachos for weeks now, so I think a small portion would be in order.
18.gif
I''d bake up some wings, but that would just be wrong...

hlmr- So glad that you''ll be watching the game tonight. Clearly they need you to watch!
9.gif
Yes, given the Pens lost last game, the officiating was clearly horrendous! I think it was a fix
11.gif

I sooooo wish I could watch CBC. Alas, we live now in crappy Delaware and it''s NBC or nothing.

Hehee, I thought that might have been the case with the officiating.

Are you having any nibblies to eat?

HI:

The old man is glued to the TV and I hope the Oilers win!!!!
