It’s here! Platinum and Jadeite earrings!

An update for all:

I sent these in to Mason Kay and have had a fantastic experience: Jeff Mason himself have communicated directly with me, and his team has been quite exceptional also, keeping me posted as to arrival of the earrings, which, no thanks to USPS, were mailed on April 12 and took two weeks to arrive at Mason Kay after being bopped about in various other states in the opposite direction. I thought they may have been lost at one point since the tracking stopped entirely for more than a week, before resuming.

Jeff Mason tested the earrings and found them to be grade A natural jadeite!

Which goes to show—I had no idea how to operate a microscope, and best to leave these things to experts!

Really highly recommend Jeff and his team!

Unfortunately despite piercing my ears just for these earrings, and converting these to platinum posts, the earrings are quite heavy for my ears and tip forward a bit, so originally I actually sent to Mason Kay to see if they may want to purchase but did let them know I wasn’t sure they were untreated and sent them all my amateur photos from the thread.

@Crimson Curious what the valuation would be on these earrings now we know they are untreated jadeite? Asking since I’m not able to wear them comfortably, I’m thinking to regift them to a family member, as I was relating this whole journey at a family dinner this past weekend and my MIL expressed interest in them.

Oh that’s lovely news@seastheday. The waiting must have been awful.
Such a pity they aren’t comfy on you. I would say they are definitely worth more than what you paid. Hard to say how much because with jadeite minute differences in water, texture, evenness, hue and tone have a significant impact.
Glad your MIL likes them!

Thank you!

I’m changing gears and looking for a jade pendant instead. I waited almost 40 years to get my ears pierced and now realize I don’t actually like wearing earrings (maybe it’s too soon after the piercing to say for sure though).

I’ll start a new post once I get going on the pendant project. Thank you for all your help!

I am so happy for you, although sad to read they are not comfortable.
