I was going through the Facebook photos by Van Craeynest a while ago, and found the following illusion head setting. It can accommodate a 0.5ct or smaller diamond. It seems like a head for a solitaire ring to me, but I wonder, is it suitable for earrings? I am thinking of stud (or lever back) earrings. I'd like to hear your opinions. Thank you!

Much too high for earrings, in my opinion. We have also heard that they are limiting orders of VC pieces at this time, so you'd have to check to see if they are making whatever you decide you want. I'd ask to see actual earring setting options.

Thank you DS, that's what I suspected too. I might be able to get a 3-stone ring with that head. I'd check with the store and see what earrings they are still offering.

I just called, and was told to check back in a few months to see if the production is up and running again. The person I talked to wasn't able to give me any information about why the production is suspended. I also wasn't able to get any details about the illusion head that I was very interested in. :(

I heard that they are losing an important employee. So not sure what the future holds. I think maybe you should look at other options.

Yeah, I should do that. It's just that after owning Larry's pieces (I did get that custom necklace chain back in 2012, btw), my standard is very high now, and I am no longer terribly interested in many things. I guess my next goal would be find a jeweler who is just as good.

I certainly can understand the dilemma. There really isn't anything else like it.
