Hello,

I'm new here and was wondering if you can help me out... Is this a good stone? Here's the info from the GIA certificate:

Shape and Cutting Style- Round Brilliant
Measurements- 6.42 - 6.45 x 4.25 mm
Weight- 1.11 carat

Depth- 66%
Table- 57%
Girdle- Slightly Thick to Thick
Culet- None

Polish- Very Good
Symmetry- Very Good

Clarity Grade- VS1
Color Grade- E
Flourescence- Strong Blue

Comments:
Additional pinpoints are not shown.
Crown angles are greater than 35 degrees

Is this a good stone and how much should I pay for it.

Thanks so much in advance for your help!

Hello! I am not an expert, just a pricescope junkie. That said, I know that 66% depth is way too deep for a round stone. What this means is it is "tall and thin" and most of the carat weight will not be seen. this diamond will look smaller than better cut stones of the same carat weight. Do a search from the front page and set depth limits to about 58-62%. Around 60% is a good round number to remember. Additionally, if you are buying off the net, request a Sarin report (unless AGS certed--then you have them already) and use the numbers to plug into the Cut Advisor. I am sure more will chime in. Good luck!
