Is this a good fit and price?

It's a bit deep. I would pass and try again.

Use the blue nile search function. Follow these instructions.

Enter these criteria into the search function.

Cut: Ideal - Astor

click on "more filters"

Select Excellent for Polish and Symmetry

Depth: 60-62.3
table: 54-58

Then when you get results, open up the GIA report. Plug the numbers from the GIA report into the HCA calculator.

Go to the top of this page, click on Tools, and choose "HCA". Then enter the GIA report number. If the result is 2 or less, the diamond is worth considering. Do that until you have 3 or so options and post those on this thread and people will comment.

Sorry, forgot to mention:

crown angle: 34-35
pavilion angle: 40.6-40.8

What is the hca on the one you posted?

And take your time. The experts will chime in sometime tomorrow. It's not like picking from a menu.

Do you want a high clarity stone like VVS2 for cultural reasons ? You would not be able to tell the difference between a VS1 to a VVS2 with the naked eye as far as inclusions. Personally I would drop down to a VS1 and go up in carat size. Also I would inquire if the strong blue floor poses any millkines or hazziness.

Diamond you have selected looks good. I ran a search for you. Here is another option

The diamond that was selected has proportion outside recommended ideal range but could work well together. Further evaluation would be a good idea, personally I would not want strong blue Fluro in that high clarity but that’s just me....

Thank you for the advice. I will look into VSI.

Do you mind giving me more info on daimonds with strong blue fluro?

I might have to go a few carat down and stick with a better color.
I wear a size 5 ring, maybe 1 carat will still look big on my finger.

Regarding strong blue fluorescence in some cases will make the stone look hazy or milky so would be a good idea to have it evaluated.

If you are not color sensitive meaning you can't detect tint in the lower color range then stick with H or I. I recommend you going to your local jeweler and have them show you a 1 carat or higher stone in the DEF color range and compare it to the same carat size in the H I J color range if you can't detect any difference i would say stick with I to maximize carat size.

neither, sorry!
Search for diamonds with these parameters as they are super ideal proportions

Table 54-57
Depth: 60-62.3
Crown angle 34-35 (35.5 may be ok if paired with a 40.6 PA)
Pavilion angle 40.6-40.8

Its so frustrating trying to find a daimond. LoL
By the time i find one, I'll probably be divorced. LoL

Rare carat is really good because you can put in those parameters. Go to advanced diamond filters, it’s at the bottom of the page :)

What is your budget and diamond specs you want ?

What is your budget and diamond specs you want ?

Budget is between 5k-6k total with the settings.
Solitaire style, 1 carat, H colorless, but can work with a i. Clarity, VS1 and above. Natural daimond. no Lab made daimonds please.
Anything that is decent and 1 carat. Should be fine with me. I'm getting a little tired of looking for the perfect one. =)2

These are a bit over my price range.
I thought if HCA was in the 1, its a good daimond?

Anything 2 or under with the HCA tool is worth considering.
