Where did you find this diamond? I'm not coming up with all that much in the way of price comparisons for you.

I found it at www.diamondsatcost.com.:wavey:

Well, it probably is fine. It's harder to say without a Sarin report which gives crown and pavilion angles. It may be difficult to get someone to provide that information to you on this kind of purchase. I noticed that they have a 7 day return policy. You will want to make sure that it is enough time to get an independent appraiser to look at the diamond. I don't know much about this vendor.

Hello Jax,

I bought my 1ct diamond at diamondsatcost.com

My overall experience was excellent. I found a diamond
that closely matched what I was looking for using their
search engine. I contacted them via aol messenger and
Martin (owner)found me a better cut diamond for less
price than the one I saw on their website.

Martin is able to search his inventory before it comes online
and he got me yet a better deal than those diamonds in the website.

Of course I also checked his company at bbb.org
before making my decision. My appraiser said I did
an excellent job picking up the stone/price

Now about your diamond...
How much lower can you go for a GIA certified diamond?
My understanding is that certifying a diamond with GIA itself
costs the dealers about $200 bucks! (including cost of taking
the diamond off the market until certified, etc.)

Now the diamond looks to me within Tolkowsky Ideal Cut (Depth%
60.1-62.8% Table%53-57%)proportions, G color, and GIA certificate
for under $300 bucks? I say go for it!

Note: that the website shows 7 day return policy, you can work this out with Martin in case you need more time.
