thats what i thought, but i was messing around with gia facetware, and only reason it is very good cut is because the girdle is thick. if you made the girdle sl thick it was an excellent cut. Not sure how big of a deal a thick girfdle vs. a slightly thick girdle is though?

Not sure, I'm pretty new at this. I thought the main concern with a thick girdle is that it's essentially a waste of carat weight.

You could probably find a tighter cut diamond, but if you have seen this one and like it, then it may be worth considering - if you want a diamond which is cut to superideal standards with the best light performance, then you may need to keep looking. I would say to see if you can get an Idealscope image from the vendor, to see how this diamond looks, that would be the best next step probably.

Also with GIA Ex and VG cut grade diamonds, it is best to evaluate each diamond on it's own proportions to see which are the superior ones. Regarding price, it is hard to say for complete rings, you can use the search tool above and enter the specs of the diamond to get an idea of the centre stone price, generally online stones may be less than with a B&M.

I am not sure the girdle is the only factor. I think a 32 crown angle is questionable as we like to see 34-35 on most ideal cut diamonds. But again, while you can find a diamond with better numbers, if you think it is beautiful, then that is what counts!
